AB We report on a 28-year-old AIDS patient who developed a rapidly
progressive glomerulonephritis while being treated with foscarnet for
cytomegalovirus retinitis. Renal biopsy showed crescentic proliferation
related to crystals within the glomerular capillaries. The role of
foscarnet in this unusual renal syndrome is discussed.
