AB A Chicago-based law firm abandoned its legal fight to overturn a
$500,000 damage award to the estate of a former associate who claimed he
was fired because he had AIDS. This settlement represents the third time
law firms have decided to settle out of court rather than face a
showdown. The other two cases involved Philadelphia firms. Amounts of
the settlement were not revealed from these two cases.
