This documentation is assuming a new installation not an upgrade from previous
version of Wildmail. But could also be used on a previous installation.
Unzip your copy of Wildmail v4.x (WM40-WC4.ZIP and the other necessary files
to upgrade to v4.10) into a temporary directory other than C:\WM40, e.g.
C:\WMTEMP and type install from that temporary directory.
Select "Install/Upgrade WILDMAIL! from the above screen and press enter key.

Note: This documentation is being used for both Frontdoor and InterMail
version of this documentation, because they use similar settings,
so, anytime you see reference to Frontdoor or InterMail, you should
substitute it for the particular Mailer you are using.

Here is where you will specify the Destination drive letter (e.g C) where you
want Wildmail program files to be installed. Wildmail will automatically
install into the directory of \WM40 on the drive you specified (e.g C:\WM40).

Disregard the option that says "WILDMAIL! v3/3.1 directory:" as seen above
because that is for an upgrade process and we are starting our own

During the installation when Wildmail prompts you for your Primary address,
just enter your temporary address as you have used in your Mailer (Frontdoor
or InterMail) setup for now, see example above. After you receive your own
FidoNet address, you should come back to all this setup configuration and
change all the occurrence of the addresses to your actual address.
Note: the above must be done, or else your echomails or Netmails will never be
tossed into or out of your Wildcat! BBS message conference or even leave your
board.

Wildmail will also prompts you for you HUB address during the installation,
this is where you will tell Wildmail your HUB address. For now just enter
a temporary address based on your Net. For example, if your Zone area is 1,
and your area Net number is 278, then just enter 1: 278/1000 as seen above.

After you received your node address and found out your HUB address from your
area NC, you can then modify and change the HUB number to the actual address.

Question: How do I know my HUB address?
Answer: Look at the end of the README.TXT file that accompanied this archive
in the section of "Frequently Asked Questions and Answers", and then
you will found out all the process.

After this screen has been successfully completed and you press F10 to save
it, your finished screen should look like the one on the next page/screen.

You cannot change or modify anything in Wildmail until you press F8 function
key. Wildmail always starts it's configuration in "Read-Only Mode" as seen

without being able to change anything. But because we want to edit and change
several settings here, you will now have to press F8 to put Wildmail in

      SYSTEM INFORMATION
      ==================

This is the screen where you will define your file locations and your FidoNet
addresses and any other Network addresses (AKA) that you will be using, this
info should be the same as you have entered in your Frontdoor or InterMail
setup. Remember we shall use a temporary address with Zone:Net/9999
e.g (1:278/9999) please replace the 278 with the Network address in your area
that you will belong to.
When you actually get your own Node address from your Network Co-Ordinator (NC),
you will need to come back to this setup and change all the occurrences of the
temporary number to your own actual FidoNet address number.
System Operator Name and Bulletin Board Name should be replaced with yours.
Replace my primary address above (1:278/9999) with your own temporary address.
Select Frontdoor or InterMail based on which one you are using as your Mailer
Type.
Make sure all the drive letters and directories (path) as seen above matches
your setup. If you have created the same directories on the C:\ drive, as
previously instructed, then you will not have to change anything here.

If \BADECHO directory does not exist under your Wildmail directory, e.g.
C:\WM40\BADECHO as seen above, then create it or let Wildmail create it for
you when you are prompted.

Inbound Path 1: should be directed towards your inbound files directory in
Frontdoor or InterMail which is C:\FD\FILES or C:\IM\FILES
Inbound Path 2: should be blank because it's the same as your Inbound Path 1.
Outbound Path: should be directed towards your packets directory in
Frontdoor or InterMail which is C:\FD\PACKETS or C:\IM\PACKETS.
Netmail Path: should be directed towards your Netmail directory in Frontdoor
or InterMail which is C:\FD\NETMAIL or C:\IM\NETMAIL.
Those above directories should already have been created when you were
installing your Frontdoor or InterMail Mailers. Make sure they are there!

Note: Please disregard the "Mail router: C:\QM\QMAIL.EXE" option above as
that is only needed and partains to D'Bridge Mailer only, this is not
required for our Frontdoor or InterMail setup.

When you highlight "Primary address" and press enter, you will get this screen.
Input your temporary primary address here, enter 1 for Zone if you are in USA
or Canada. All other geographical area should look at the beginning of this
document for your area Zone Numbers. Net is your area Network address number,
you should have inquired from other Sysops on FidoNet in your area for this.
Node is the temporary Node number 9999 that we shall be using until you
actually get yours.
When you obtain yours from your area NC, you should come back here and change
all the 9999 to the new number assigned to you. Point should normally be 0
(zero) unless you are going to be a point off somebody. Press F10 and save.

Note: Remember that we have already entered our Primary address at the
beginning of this installation. But when you receive your actual node address,
you will need to change this thru the above procedure, and that is the reason
you were shown the procedure above.

When you highlight "AKA address" and press enter you get this screen menu,
if you need to define an AKA for other Private Networks that you will
belong to, then press INS key to define the AKA address for them as seen
above using the same procedure you used to define your Primary address.
But I am sure for now you probably don't have any AKA and should just leave
this option alone or BLANK until you need it.

The above example is only shown to you just in case you will need to define
an AKA. I have used my own actual AfroNet Network AKA: 101:13/106 for this
specific example. Press F10 to exit and save.

      MAIL ARCHIVE DEFINITIONS
      ========================

In this screen settings, we will define our compressor/uncompressor programs
for our mail archives. I am using PKZIP/PKUNZIP as my default compressor
and it should have the (*) asterisks on to the left side in "In Use" column.
If you are not using PKZIP/PKUNZIP as your default archives then you should
change it to your own archives you use at the previous screen.
Please do not change any of the defined parameters for all this archives
because the above is suitable for all occasions.
NOTE: It's better to have all the archives above in your directory specified
in your autoexec.bat path statement. Please obtain all the above archives
as you never know what archive will be used by someone or your HUB when they
send you mails. Press Esc to save and return to the Main menu.

      ORIGIN LINE MAINTENANCE
      =======================

This is the menu you will get when you highlight "Origin Lines Maintenance"
from the Main Menu. You can press INS key to create or DEL key to erase an
origin line. Press INS key to create your own BBS origin line as seen above
and on next page.

Note: Please do not include your Fidonet Main or AKA addresses on this
origin line because Wildmail will automatically append your address to the
origin line. So if you include your address on this line, it will be shown
twice when your messages are exported.

You may or should delete all the default installed Origin Lines created
automatically by Wildmail, so you do not get confused when selecting the
appropriate Origin Lines for your echomail conference and create yours.

You should create your own Origin line specific for your BBS and for the
appropriate and individual Networks as needed. See the example above and on
next screen.

      ========================

When you highlight "2D/3D Address Management" from the Main menu and you

See next screen for more info. This option setup is only required if you have
an AKA not your Main FidoNet address.

for the path and directory we have created before this process as seen above.
Now highlight "Netmail Conference Number" (mine is Conference #5) and hit
F2 function key, you will get a pop-up screen (as seen on next three pages)
showing you all the conference listings from Wildcat!, you should have created
this conference at the beginning of this process. Highlight your Netmail
conference from the list and press F10 function key to accept it.
Leave all the other options above the way you see them for better result.

The screen here shows you that that your defined Netmail conference Number 5
or whatever your Netmail conference has been saved and accepted.
Now highlight "Valid CRASH MAIL users" options to tell Wildmail the names of
users that can send Crash Netmail from your BBS, (read more on Crashmail
later from Wildmail & your Mailer documentation), when you press enter on this
option, the lists of your users from your Wildcat! User Database will pop-up,
you should highlight your own name and press spacebar to toggle your name, so
you can be able to send crash mail within your BBS. If you will also allow
any of your other users to be able to send crash mail from your BBS, you
should also highlight their name or names and press space bar to toggle
and you should see a dot (.) next to their names. See next coming pages for
sample pop-up screen to select users with CrashMail access.
You should also give yourself enough Netmail and Account balances.

Note: Do not give CrashMail to all your users, caution should be taken with
this option, it is only wise to give yourself alone (Sysop) or your (Co-Sysop)
the CrashMail access.

When you select Netmail Flags, the next screen will pop-up, make sure you
select or toggle them the way I have it here, or else you may be looking for
trouble. Toggle Private (PVT), Crash (CSH) and Local (LOC).

select or toggle everything the way I have it here, or else your settings
may not work. Use spacebar to toggle them as seen above and press F10 to
save when finished. Toggle Private, Crash and Local here as seen above.

When you have toggled the necessary Flags, you should then see the followings
on the: Netmail message flags: PVT CSH LOC (definitions below)

PVT = Private - because all the mails in Netmails conference should be Private
CSH = Crash - because when you write a Netmail you want it to go Crash.
LOC = Local - because the message is created locally on your board.

Crash - means you want the Netmail message written to go out right away and
directly to it's destination. This is how Netmail supposed to work
as opposed to echomails which goes to every board.

When you Press F2 at the option that says: "Netmail conference number:" this
list of your defined message conference from Wildcat! thru Makewild will pop-up
for you to select the appropriate conference for your Netmail.

This conference is not the same with your other Echomail conferences, this is
only for Netmail and should be only one conference on your board.
I have provided sample Netmail conference definition in Makewild, and it
should in the README.TXT that accompanies this archive. I am sure you have
seen it at the beginning and have created the required Netmail conference.

Note: You should only have one Netmail Conference defined in your Wildcat! by
means of Makewild, and this is where you will tell Wildmail which
conference to use for that Netmail conference.

NODE ADDRESS MANAGEMENT (This is very important in our setup)
    =======================

You must define each of this Node Definition for each of your HUB (Uplink) or
your Node (Downlink, if you are a HUB). This setup is very important, or you
will not be able to get your echomails and your echomails will never leave
your Wildcat! BBS to the rest of the world. Go thorough it carefully.

If you highlight "Node Address Management" from the Main Menu and hit enter
key, you will get this screen to setup the information for HUB(s) that you
will be calling for your echomails or Nodes that will be calling you for
mails if you are a HUB. In our example setup, I have used my own area
temporary address and my HUB address, you should modify this to match your
own HUB information by pressing INS key to create a new one for yourself and
the above screen menu should pop-up for you to input all the information.

Remember we have already defined one fake or temporary HUB in the beginning
of this setup when you initially install Wildmail, you can now go and modify
that and follow the above settings, and when you actually know your HUB and
get setup, you can then change all the node address information to match your
particular actual HUB.

Node Address: You will enter the address info for the HUB or the Node as seen
above. See sample screen on next pages to come.

Net Membership: When you highlight this option and press enter you will see
the lists of your defined Networks, Wildmail has already defined three for you
when you installed Wildmail namely: FIDONET_NA, FIDONET_NO and OCRNET.
You will only be concerned with FIDONET_NA and FIDONET_NO which are for FidoNet
Networks. So select all the two of them if they are not already selected.
See sample screen below on next pages to come.

Active Node: Make sure the "Active Node" is set to YES.

Selected Confs: This are the lists of conferences that you want to get from
this HUB, when you press enter here the lists will pop-up for you to toggle
the desired conferences.
Note: You cannot be able to select a conferences for a HUB or a Node until
you have selected the Net Member ship above, and also you must save that
first and then come back into this option before you can select the Conferences
So make sure you have completed all the other settings here and then save it,
then come back here to toggle the conferences.
But when you come back here and press this option, all the lists of your
conferences as defined in FIDONET_NA and FIDONET_NO will pop-up and be
displayed to you to select the conferences you want.

Sysop Name: This should be the Sysop Name for this HUB or Node, just for
informational and identification purposes only, not really needed.

BBS Name: This is the BBS Name for this HUB or the Node, for informational
and identification purposes only, not really needed.

Voice #: Voice Phone Number for this HUB or Node (if he gave it to you),
for informational and identification purposes only, not really needed.

BBS #: BBS Phone Number for this HUB or Node, for informational and
identification purposes only, not really needed.

Maximum Messages PKT: This should not exceed 300 because some earlier mail
tosser cannot deal with a packet higher than this number, be safe.

Maximum uncompress bytes: Better leave this at the default number.

PKT file format: You should and MUST leave this at: Type 2.2.

Inbound and Outbound PKT Password: Should normally be blank.

Flags on Netmail msg: Should always be PVT KIL LOC (press enter key to
select and toggle those options from the pop-up list.)

Uncompress PKT path: C:\WILDUUCP\GATE\ You should only have this changed if
you are using WILDUUCP for Internet, otherwise just leave it alone.
If Wildmail does not detect that you have WildUUCP, this option will be dimmed.

Use Standard naming: Should normally be Y for YES. press F1 for details.

Compress Format: Where to select the appropriate compressor/uncompressor that
your HUB is using for your mails (you better ask him/her though).

Kill Orphan Messages: Should normally be Y for YES, since you don't want some
stray mails getting into your message database.

Use Tiny SEEN-BY: lines: Should normally be N for NO, so your messages don't
get clobbered with those ridiculous SEEN-BYs. In some Network, people will
even yell at you for leaving your SEEN-BYs on.

Expiration Processing: You do not need this options and are not required for
our setup, if you want to use this option, then refer to WM40.DOC for more
information on this. I don't use it!

AreaRequest Options: This is needed if you are going to be a HUB, but for now
just leave this options alone since you are new to this things, and I am
sure you don't want to be a HUB at this stage.
Leave all options at N for NO especially "Allow AreaRequest functions:" but
when you are ready to be a HUB, this will be the option you will use to turn
it ON. With this option set to NO, all the other settings under it will be
dimmed.

Miscellaneous Informations: This is where you will enter postal or residential
address or comments you may have for this HUB or Node. Explore at your own time,
because this is not needed for our setup or even any setup at all, this is for
informational and identification purposes only.

Leave all the options as seen above and if you need more information, please
refer to your best friend which is Wildmail documentation, i.e. WM40.DOC.

When you select "Net Membership:" which actually means Network Membership,
all the Networks you defined will pop-up for you to select which Network this
HUB or Node will belong. Wildmail has automatically setup the Networks above
for you when you initially installed it. For FidoNet you will select both
FIDONET_NA and FIDONET_NO.

If you have other Private Networks that you belong to, you will first add
them to the setup in Wildmail database and then they will also be listed in
this pop-up screen, but for now just concentrate on the FidoNet setup and then
you can learn how to add other Private Networks to Wildmail, it's a very
simple process but we are not going cover that setup here, it's a totally
different process, let's make this setup simple for now. I will show you how
to add your Private Network later in this setup in case you need it.

Note: You can have more than one Network belongs to a HUB or Node.
For example, if you pickup your FidoNet, AfroNet, and WildNet from the same
HUB, you don't need to define three separate Node Definition for this HUB,
you can just select all the three different Networks for this HUB here.
(The only exception to the above is if you are using a different address for
each Network, in that case you have to define each separately.)

CONFERENCE AREA MANAGEMENT (This is very important in our setup)
      ==========================

This is where we shall create and define our echomail conferences for
Wildmail and match it with the conferences we have already created in our
Wildcat! BBS thru Makewild, so that Wildmail will be able to know which
conferences to import (toss) and export (scan) our messages.
Also we shall match the conferences to each HUB we call (poll) for our
echomail in case you pull more than one echomail Network from different or
more than one HUB.
I have already created two sample conferences here for you, the first one is
called Netmail and the other is an Echomail for Wildcat! FidoNet Conference,
follow the same pattern and example here to create more conferences when
needed. The Netmail conference shall remain the same and should be ONLY one,
you cannot have more than one Netmail Conference but you can have as many
echomail conferences as you want (there is a difference between Netmail and
Echomail Conference). In our earlier setup we have already linked Netmail
conferences we defined in Wildcat! to Wildmail. So you will not see
any Netmail Conference definition in this sample settings. The sample above
is only for echomail conferences and none is required for Netmail Conference.
We shall only deal with creating and linking echomail conferences with
Wildcat! Message conferences and Wildmail conference definition here.
Press INS key to create or define a conference.
Follow the sample defined here as seen below for all your other echomail
conference definition.

Note: This is where you will be spending most of your time, because each
conference you intend to echo will have to be defined here.
That means, if you will be echoing 100 conferences on your board then
you will have to define 100 conferences here as well as your BBS.
      Don't be scared, let's proceed.

    Sample Echomail Conference Definition
    -------------------------------------

When you press INS key to create a conference or Enter key to edit a
pre-defined conference as instructed from the previous screen or page, above
is the example setup for conference definition.

Area Name: This is the echo area TagName from FIDONET.NA or your Network
EchoList listings supplied by FidoNet or your Network to identify this
conference.
Our example uses WILDCAT, because that is the TagName from FIDONET.NA.
FidoNet does not work like TNET where you use Conference Numbers from your
HUB, here in FidoNet format, you will use AREA TAG Name instead of the
conference number. Wildmail should have already installed FIDONET.NA and
FIDONET.NO in your C:\WM40\ECHOLIST for you.
You should print out this Ascii text file for all FidoNet conference tagnames
for your reference.

Note: When you highlight the option "FTSC Area Name:" above and press enter,
if the space is blank, Wildmail will give you an error message that says:
"The area definition must contain a valid name", just press enter on that
error message again and all the conference area already installed in Wildmail
will pop-up for you to select the TagName for this conference, also you can see
the description for this same conference, just highlight the conference you
want and accept it and it should be imported into the space for you
automatically.

Long Description: This is the long description that will identify this
conference. It will be automatically inserted for you from the above
procedure.

Network: This is the Network that this conference will belong to, it may be
automatically appended for you here if you follow the above procedure.

Active conference: Should always be Y for YES, unless you are not relaying
this conference anymore.

Selected Nodes: This is where you will select the HUB or Node that will
belong to this Network, when you press Enter key on this option, when you are
first defining this conference, you will get an error message that says:
"Before selecting Nodes, you must save this definition first". Go ahead and
complete the rest of the settings here and leave this alone then save your
settings and then come back here to select the HUB or Node in this option.
You must save your settings first before you can select this option.
When you come back here and highlight that option and press enter, all your
defined HUB or Nodes will pop up for you to select which of them this
Conference will belong to. You must do this if you want your mails to get
imported and exported out of your board.

Passthru Area: This is to specify if message in this conference will be
imported to your board, in most cases it should be N for NO unless you are
a HUB and just feeding this conference to another Node calling you and you
are not importing this particular echo area into your own board.

Wildcat! BBS Conference: The default is 0 here, but you cannot use 0 because
this is your "Private E-Mail" conference in Wildcat! and you will get an error
message from Wildmail, so pressing F2 function key on this option will
pop-up your conference listings as defined in Wildcat! thru Makewild
(as seen below on the right hand corner) for you to select the conference
you will match with this area. You will highlight desire conference and press
Enter key to accept this conference and save it in Wildmail.

Ctrl line processing: This should normally be set to Hidden.

Restrict Importation: This should also be set to N for NO.

Use domain in MSGID: This should also be set to N for NO.

Extract Private Mail: If Wildmail should extract any Private Mail it found
in this conference, this is your option, but because this is an echomail
conference and sometimes Private Mail is not allowed, then it will be set
to N for NO. I set mine to Y for YES in case any Private Mail comes to my
board even though I do not allow it in echomail areas. It does not hurt to
leave it at Y for YES. Please Use your own discretion.

Extract File Attaches: Since File attachment is not allowed in echomail
conference, this has been set to N for NO.

Notify User of New mail: Of course you want this to be Y for YES.

Add nodes to SEEN-BY:'s line: Wildmail will take care of this, leave alone.

Origin Address: This is your address that you will be using for this Network,
the default is always your Primary address but you can change it if this
conference belongs to one of your other Private Network AKA address.
Pressing enter key on this option will pop-up all your defined addresses and
you can select the one appropriate for this conference from the list.

Origin Line: This is your origin line that you will use for this conference.
Pressing enter key on this option will pop-up all your defined origin lines and
you can select the one appropriate for this conference from the list.

Grunged Message Options: Please leave this at Delete Messages, and leave all
the other options underneath it the way they are.

AreaRequest Options: Leave this alone unless you are a HUB and you have
AreaRequest defined previously. Leave everything there and under it alone.

Area Request Flags: Should just be left alone, relates to the settings above.

For specific details and information about all the above option settings,
please refer to your Wildmail Documentation/Manual, but the above settings
should work fine for everyone. it works for me here.

Now, after all the above settings press F10 function key to save your
conference Area definition to create more. You will need to create and
match each area for all the conference you will carry, repeating the same

       NETWORK MANAGEMENT
       ==================

Above is the list of Networks that was automatically created and added to
Wildmail database when you initially installed Wildmail for FidoNet Network
and OCR Network. You do not need OCR Network, this is the Network specific
for the authors of Wildmail, so it's safe to delete it. But leave the
FIDONET_NA and FIDONET_NO alone, those are for your FidoNet Network.
If you highlight any of them and press enter, you can see the informations
for this Network. You can also press INS key from this menu screen to add,
create or define your own Network if you belong to other Private Network
apart from FidoNet. I will show you how to create or add your own Private
Network later in this setup.
All the Network you will belong must be define and added to Wildmail database
from this screen before you can have the conferences available for echoing.

Since Wildmail already defined FidoNet Network for us when we first initially
installed it, we shall press and enter on the FIDONET_NA to see all the
characteristics of this Network as seen on the next screen.
We shall also define our own Private Network later in the setup after the next
screens.

Sample Private Network addition, definition or creation:
    --------------------------------------------------------

In this sample setup we are going to use my AFRONET (Blacks and African
American International Network) as an example for Private Network.
If you do not yet belong to any other Private Network, then you should not
be concerned with this setup here, but when you do need it, it's here for you.

When you are in the "FTSC Network Definitions" menu under Network Manager,
and press INS key to add, define or create a Network, you will get a blank
menu that looks like the above for you to input the information of this
Network.

Network Name: The short name you will call this Network, e.g. AFRONET
Description: The full description name to identify this Network as seen above.
Domain Name: If this is Network has a domain name in Internet, if it does
not or you don't know it, just leave it blank, no problem.

Originating Node: This is where you will specify if the Network originates
from your board to other boards. If you are the creator of
this Network and everyone on this Network pickup the mails
from you then it may be Y for YES, but generally is N for NO
if you are picking-up the Network from another HUB.

You do not need to worry about "AreaRequest Options" unless you are going to
be serving as a HUB for this Network also, but the sample is above, it does
not hurt to leave them the way they are.

All the other options should remain the way you see them above, but do not
forget to substitute your own addresses and origin line and your HUB address
for your respective Networks.

Note: If you belong to a Private Network apart from FidoNet, you must add the
Network here before you can select their respective conferences to be
added to Wildmail database or to be define for echoing on your board.
You will also need to add this Network to your "Echo List Management"
which we shall discuss in the screens to come, just remember.

That's how you add, define or create a Private Network if you need to use
it, and when you finished and saved your settings, the new Network should be
added to your setup as seen on the next screen.

change some settings that is uniform in all of them at once.
You will be able to change any of your settings in a shot here. But for now,
leave all this options alone, and when you have mastered the operation of
Wildmail, you can then explore this options to customize your settings if
you need to change anything.

We will not touch any of the settings here because it does not affect or

    AREAREQUEST GENERAL SETTINGS
    ============================

Generally you should not have to do anything here. Just make sure you have
the directory settings as seen above with the respective files stated,
Wildmail already installed those files in those respective directories for you
and they are ascii text files which can be customized with your text editor.

When you highlight the option that says: "Flag definitions:", a pop-menu
will appear for you to select the Flags, you do not need to do anything here,
no need to select any Flags, just leave them alone, we did not define any
Flags and there is no need to define any Flags either, again leave them alone.

      ECHO LIST MANAGEMENT
      ====================

This is where you will tell Wildmail the corresponding echolist files that
contains the conference listings for each Network.
As seen above, the listed Networks were automatically created for us when we
installed Wildmail. The FIDONET.NA and FIDONET.NO is the file that lists all
of Fidonet International Network conferences echo tagnames and their
respective descriptions, the files are both ordinary Ascii text files located
in C:\WM40\ECHOLIST directory and can be viewed by your favorite text editor
and can also be printed for handy reference.
OCRNET.NA is the echoname listings like above but for the Wildmail authors
specific Network, if you don't need it, you can safely delete it from the
listings, but leaving it will not do you any harm, you never know when you
will be needing it.

If you highlight FIDONET_NA and press enter key, you will get the next screen
to show you the characteristics and settings for FIDONET_NA.
You do not need to do anything here but just make sure the settings are the
same as seen on that screen, if they are not then change them, but they
should be because Wildmail installed this as default for us.

Remember we created a Private Network called AFRONET in our previous screens?
and I told you that we must also add this Network to the Echo List definitions?
Well in the next two screens, you will see the procedures in adding this
Network to the Echo List Definitions.

Now press INS key to add or define this AFRONET Network to the Echo List and
you should get the screen below to define it.

Note: Before you add this Network into the Echo List, you must first add
it to the Network Definition and saved it as we have done in the previous
definition screens.
And make sure you have also copied the file that contains the echoname lists
to the directory named C:\WM40\ECHOLIST under your Wildmail directory, this
directory should already have been created for you when you installed it
initially, the echolist filename for this AFRONET in this case is called
AFRONET.NA, yours may be called ALINET.LST, ITCNET.NA, CATNET.LST etc
the name does not matter just make sure you specify the right filename.

When you press INS key from the "Echo List Definitions" menu screen, you will
get a blank screen like the above for you to input all the informations for
this Network you want to add to the Echo List Definitions.

When you highlight the "Network Name:" as seen above and press enter key,
you will get a pop-up screen from "FTSC Network Definitions" that you have
defined earlier for you to select the Network you want to add to this
Echo List Definitions, just highlight the appropriate one and press enter key
to accept it and it will be imported/inserted into the Network name for you
automatically.

Change all the other settings to match the settings above but make sure you
enter the correct filename that contains the echolist tagname for this
Network in the settings that says:
"Import ASCII text file name: C:\WM40\ECHOLIST\AFRONET.NA" replace the

This will conclude our setups for Wildmail. I hope I have helped you enough.

To test Wildmail, change to C:\WM40 and type WM SCAN TOSS NETMAIL (all on the
same command line) and if you did not get any error message, then your setup is
fine. If you get any error, please go thru your setup procedure again to see
what you have done wrong. Wildmail must be run from it's own directory, i.e.
C:\WM40. You need at least the Evaluation Key for Wildmail to work.
Please call Integrated Solutions BBS to download your 30-days Evaluation Key.

Note: Don't forget to go thru this setup again to change your Node address
when you actually get your own FidoNet address from your area NC,
and when you actually know your HUB address and informations.

                               SUMMARY or CONCLUSION
                               =====================

In conclusion or summary following ins the necessary steps and procedures
to add a HUB/Node, New Private Networks or Echomails message conferences from
your HUB or Node to your Wildmail setup and Wildcat! BBS:

   1. Create the necessary each echomail conferences in your Wildcat! BBS
       by means of Makewild.
Each conference must be created for each echomail conference you wish
to offer or echo on your board.

   2. Define Node info for the HUB/Node by means of Node Definition in
       Node Address Management.
       (a) Select Network Members for this HUB/Node.
       (b) Make this HUB/Node Active.
       (c) Select the appropriate conferences for this HUB/Node.

   3. Create or Define your Conferences in Wildmail Database by means of
       Conference Area Management.
       (a) Each conference you want to echo must be define here and must be
matched with the appropriate conference defined in Wildcat! BBS.
       (a) Make sure the Echo TagName is spelled correctly.
       (b) Make the conferences Active.
       (c) Select the HUB/Node for this conferences.
       (d) Select and match the right Wildcat! BBS conference defined
earlier in makewild with this conferences in Wildmail setup.
       (e) Select your correct and appropriate Node address and origin line
           for this conferences.

                     AREAFIX NETMAIL MESSAGE INFORMATION
                     ===================================

After you have obtained your Node address and you have configure your
Mail tosser e.g. Wildmail, Hypermail!, GoMail, Interecho, you will
need to found out from your NC who will be your HUB, as stated in the
"Frequently asked Questions and Answers". Then you will need to obtain
an AREAFIX Password from the HUB, then you will have to send a Netmail
to AREAFIX to turn ON or OFF the echos that you will want.
The procedures are analyzed in the README.TXT and you should seek more
help from your HUB if you need it, but I think I have tried my best to
cover the whole procedures needed to request your echos thru AREAFIX from
   your HUB.
Your HUB will instruct you when to send the AREAFIX message to him.

The setup is not too bad right?

God Bless. Praise be to Allah.

                           -------- end --------
