                       MAJOR ISSUES OF THE DAY
Ĵ
PROTECT AMERICAN JOBS AND INDUSTRY from foreign competition. Insti- NY
tute fair tariff laws to equalize production costs at the water's
edge. Promote domestic enterprise. Restrict immigration to protect
employment for American workers.
Ĵ
ABOLISH TAXPAYER-FINANCED FOREIGN AID GIVEAWAYS. Keep America's NY
wealth here at home where it belongs.
Ĵ
STOP INFLATION, BRING DOWN INTEREST RATES, AND PREVENT NATIONAL NY
BANKRUPTCY by abolishing the banking monopoly known as the Federal
Reserve System. The FED maintains a profitable deadlock on our econ-
omy at the expense of America's workers, farmers and small business-
men.
Ĵ
REVITALIZE THE FAMILY FARM. Establish an immediate moratorium on all NY
foreclosures against farmers, homeowners and small businessmen. Pro-
vide parity for family farmers.
Ĵ
REDUCE FEDERAL INCOME TAXES on the wages of the working middle class NY
with the ultimate goal of phasing out federal wage taxes altogether.
(Lost revenues can be replaced by income received through the levy
of taxes, duties, imposts and excises on foreign goods entering this
country.)
Ĵ
REPUDIATE THE NATIONAL DEBT except that held by lenders who have in- NY
vested their earned money in government securities. This will cut
the artificially inflated debt and interest by at least one half.
Ĵ
REINVIGORATE THOMAS JEFFERSON'S PRINCIPLE: "Equal Rights for All; NY
Special Privilege for None." End all forced racial busing, quotas
and affirmative action programs.
Ĵ
RESTORE FREEDOM OF CHOICE in health care and education. End govern- NY
ment restrictions which interfere with medical freedom and the right
of parents and local school districts to guide their children's ed-
ucation.
Ĵ
RESTORE A STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE. Establish a military which is NY
second-to-none. Cease shipments of advanced technology and military
equipment to enemy nations. Defend America, not the world. Protect
the right of law-abiding homeowners and sportsmen to keep and bear
arms as guaranteed by the Constitution.
Ĵ
STOP MEDDLING IN FOREIGN PROBLEMS. Restore America's traditional NY
non-interventionist foreign policy as laid down by President George
Washington. Stop sacrificing American youth in wars fought to bene-
fit special interests.
Ĵ

                         ARE YOU A POPULIST?

OPPORTUNIST POLITICIANS are now calling themselves "populists"--liberal
Democrats and conservative Republicans alike. However, populism is best
personified in the legacy of two of America's foremost populist statesmen:
Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson.

The Declaration of Independence, penned by Jefferson, embodied all of
the populist principles that guided the American Revolution. It was Andrew
Jackson who put Jefferson's populist ideals into practical political action.
Jacksonian populism remained the basis of American domestic and foreign
policy making until the early part of the 20th Century. Today populists are
engaged in a growing effort to restore America's authentic political
heritage.

Populism is neither "conservative" nor "liberal." Conservatism favors
the interests of the international capitalists and other big money forces
that benefit from their control of government policy. Liberalism tends to
favor the interests of a motley collection of organized minority pressure
groups that place an expensive array of demands upon America's consumers,
taxpayers and voters.

Conservatism and liberalism are most alike in that both are strictly
internationalist, favoring a foreign policy that caters to foreign lobbies,
global banking houses and multinational corporations.

Populism, on the other hand, is a nationalist ideology that strictly
places America's interests first. Populism favors the interests of the
nation as a whole. Populism supports the interests of America's producers:
our consumers, workers, small businessman and our middle class--the
taxpayers who pay the bills.

Populism is rule by the majority of electors for the benefit of all, not
for the benefit of minority, special-interest pressure groups. Government
by the producers and taxpayers of society, not by the super rich, tax-free
exploiters or the tax-eating, indolent parasites. Public control over the
issuance of money. Nationalism in foreign affairs. Heavy taxation of the
super rich to reduce their corrupt influence. Government policy to secure
and protect free enterprise and property rights by discouraging monopoly and
"bigness" except for regulated public utilities. A protective tariff to
equalize costs at the water's edge and strict immigration laws.

Should you support the Populist Action Committee?

Headquartered on Capital Hill in Washington, D. C., the Populist Action
Committee is working to coordinate--as its name implies--unity among the
wide array of populist, nationalist and patriotic elements in this country.

Strictly non-partisan, the PAC, is devoted to the principles of
populism, nationalism and the U.S. Constitution and for America First. The
PAC might be described as "an umbrella group for patriots." It is not a
political party.

Established in the spring of 1991, the PAC's founders and board of
advisors constitute a broad range of well-known names in the American
populist movement.

To support the PAC it is not necessary for you to join any organization
or political party. However, you can become a member of PAC.

The Populist Action Committee is working toward several goals:

    * The PAC will seek out and recruit populists who will run for office
not only on the Populist Party ticket but also as Independents and in the
ranks of both the Democratic and Republican Parties.

    * The PAC will promote and publicize populist candidates, urging
patriots around the country to make direct contributions to these
candidates. The PAC will neither solicit funds for candidates nor will it
make donations to their campaigns or make expenditures on their behalf.

Thus, campaign contributions will go directly from you to the candidates
rather than through an expensive administrative office.

    * The PAC will make available populist literature (platforms, position
papers, etc) and also re-publish now out-of-print populist and nationalist
classics from the past.

    * The PAC will hold national meetings at various locations around the
country in order to coordinate joint political action among populists,
featuring seminars on fund-raising, public relations, ballot access, etc.

Ultimately, the PAC hopes to achieve a well-funded, efficiently-
administered national populist political network.

If you agree with these goals--if you support the concept of an
"umbrella group" under which all patriots can unite--you, too, should
support the Populist Action Committee.
