Howdy all,
To use this program, simply unzip all the files in the archive into a
directory and start it. The program will ask for the location of the L3ENC.EXE
file and the L3DEC.EXE file. These are the actual programs that encode and
decode the MP3's. If you don't have these files, have a look for them on BBS's
or on the net. They usually come in a file called L3V261D1.ZIP. A good place
to look for all the latest MP3 stuff is the #mpeg3 or #mp3 channels on EFNET.
If MP3Shop doesn't do anything when you press the "Convert all"
button, check that you have a DOSPRMPT.PIF file in your Windows directory.
MP3Shop uses this to shell to the L3 files. This program also requires the
Visual Basic Runtime file VBRUN300.DLL. This file is available everywhere:
Most BBS's the Internet (Microsoft sites, a search, etc)
Due to the programming of the L3 files, this program can only convert 16 bit
wave files.
I will continue to make this program and improve it if people could
give me feedback/abuse/hatemail. Please do give me some constructive critisism
and suggestions. E-mail me at thebrickhead@hotmail.com if you have any ideas.
This program is freeware, please distribute it everywhere in it's
original form.
