DBCALC 1.0 ========== DBCalc is a database browser and calculator. It can be used to produce (virtually) sorted index views of any database (without changing them itself). INSTALLATION: ------------- To install this application there is a common application frame library to install in prior, named Sys$lib2.opo (Version 2.43) to reduce the package size; please refer to the installation note in this seperate package. * Copy the dbcalc.opa file to any \app directory * Create on the same drive as with the dbcalc app a new directory named \app\dbcalc * Copy into this directory the ressource files, whereby for - english language you have to copy dbcalc01.rsc and for - german language you have to copy dbcalc03.rsc * After running the program the first time, there will be a directory \app\dbcalc automatically created on the internal drive to store the configuration file (if the install directory resides on a flash ssd) * Install the application by using the install menu item or shortcut from within the system screen. USAGE: ------ Create a new file from the system screen (the name can be different from the database name) and select the database. There are two different views: Index view: ----------- Inside the index view the entries can be sorted on any field. You can browse through the entries by using the cursor keys or entering the first characters of the leftmost field. You can change the column width or make a summary of any fields column. Define view: ------------ This view enables you to define the visibility, column width and the sequence of the displayed database field columns. If you modify the database itself and restart DBCalc, the index will be regenerated automatically! ABOUT THE PROGRAM: ------------------ This application (version 1.0) is freeware! No additional fee should be charged for it. The package is to be kept unmodified and as it is.
