IBM PC end (i.e. end of 3-link) Archimedes end Pin 1 not used Pin 2 ---------------------------------------Pin 2 Pin 3 ---------------------------------------Pin 3 Pin 4 ---------------------------------------Pin 4 (solder to Pin 1 as well) Pin 5 ---------------------------------------Pin 5 Pin 6 ---------------------------------------Pin 8 Pin 7 ---------------------------------------Pin 7 Pin 8 ---------------------------------------Pin 6 Pin 9 not used * To change the Archimedes software to default to the same as the Series 3, use the *Configure command: *CONFIGURE BAUD 7 [sets to 9600] *CONFIGURE DATA 5 (followed by Ctrl-Break) [sets to 8bits no parity] You can now check the settings by typing *STATUS * MCLINK can now be run and should work as advertised for a PC etc ============================================================================== The above works OK for Archimedes PC emulator versions 1.34 and 1.70. A3000 users would have to check they have the serial chips fitted. No testing has been carried out on A5000s.
