Is this another Easter Egg discovered (not by me, though) or a hint of a VERY interesting peripheral to be offered to the Pilot world "very soon" (grin). You be the judge....
To see this you need to install the Grafitti game, Giraffe on your pilot. Once installed, go to Applications and choose Giraffe. On the first Giraffe screen, place your stylus on the screen at the top above the second darker screen-width line. While pressing the screen, push the lower scroll button.
Now - haven't we seen this before? Perhaps it takes on a new meaning in the context of the pilot.

I found the Pilot Easter Egg!
Go into the Memory app.
Hold down the scroll-down button.
Tap the "System v. 1.0.2" text.
Do I win a prize? :-))

As a longtime Psion user (3a/2mb) and a new Pilot user, I agree with much of what your comparison discusses. However, I have found one major drawback (for me, at least) with the Pilot: you cannot alarm the TODO list -- i.e. you have to schedule an event on the calendar if you want to be reminded...) In my work, where tasks are more important than appointments, I frequently forget to look at the Pilot to remember stuff I have to do. A small point, but one which deserves some attention in future releases of the Pilot....

LETTERS:
B:
I've noticed that you can shorten the number of strokes for some of
the letters. For instance on B,D,P and R you can skip the initial
down stroke from the TOP left corner. Instead you can just begin the
character from the BOTTOM left corner.
You can write a 'B' as a '3' with 100% accuracy. This eliminates the upstroke. You cannot do this the P, D or R.
D:
... you can skip the initial down stroke from the TOP left corner.
Instead you can just begin the character from the BOTTOM left corner.
I find that the best "D" is done by writing a cursive "L" (lower case) which starts from the right; other types of "D" sometimes comes out "P".
E:
You write the E with straight lines, not curved. Like 2 sideway V's
joined at their ends, one on top of the other. It works every time.
G:
Try writing the 'G' to look like the number '6'
The reason you get "X" when you try to do a "G" is that the final little left stroke back to the left is crossing over the the initial "C" kind of movement. That makes it into an "X" as far as Graffiti is concerned. Maybe make a bigger loop and less pronounced cut back.
L:
What works for me with the L is to remember to include a point.
"L" still gives me trouble but it seems that having it at a bit of a backwards slant ("\_") seems to work better than straight up and down. However, if you slant it too far back, it turns into something else.
When making an "L" try making the horizontal stroke with a slight angle
P:
... you can skip the initial down stroke from the TOP left corner.
Instead you can just begin the character from the BOTTOM left corner.
R:
... you can skip the initial down stroke from the TOP left corner.
Instead you can just begin the character from the BOTTOM left corner.
My hint for the R is to exaggerate the final stroke, actually, the last stroke should be much more horizontal. Make it long.
"R" is my most misunderstood character.
The concept is to make sure that the right-to-left part of the stroke crosses the vertical. I also try to make the final left-to-right stroke almost horizontalor angled down slightly.
V:
I kept getting 'U' when I tried to write 'V'. My solution was to
start from the RIGHT side instead of the left. Works every time.
The "V" always comes out if you put a 'tail' on it. See page 25 of the UM. I always get a "U" if I forget the tail
Y:
You can do the 'Y' like the 'K', only you start at the top, come down,
and loop up and right.
The curly-Q Y always works for me. The script Y never seems to work for me.
NUMBERS:
4:
Draw 4 as a left angle bracket or a letter C instead of an 'L', it
doesn't get confused with 9 at all.
5:
Draw 5 as a letter S, i.e. with no sharp corners, otherwise it
sometimes gets interpreted as a 9.
