The files we send electronically or that you downloaded from our web site are compressed in a "Zip" format. To decompress a .zip file on under Windows, get a copy of pkunzip or windows based unzipper from your favorite shareware archive.

On the Macintosh platform, Stuffit-Expander from Aladdin systems will decompress .zip compressed files. It is also available at your favorite Mac shareware archive (AOL)

If you purchased a retail version of GolfTrac the files are available on the floppy in an uncompressed form.

Macintosh

Locate the GolfTrac.prc file.

Open the HoySync Control Panel. (Apple Menu -> Control Panels -> HotSync). It's not really a control panel, but that's where they put it. Closer examination will reveal it as an application.

Verify that the HotSync status is ON. (Button will show STOP).

Locate the InstallApp application. It should be in the same folder as your Pilot Desktop application. Default folder name is "Pilot Desktop 1.0" at the root of your system drive.

Select the pilot username for the pilot you wish to install GolfTrac on. Click the "select " Button and locate the GolfTrac.prc file. You will need to switch the list file type popup to "All Files". The Mac associates files using a Type and Creator. PC's strip this information. Since GolfTrac is mainly sold to pilot owners with PC's and the final product is compressed on a PC the Type/Creator information is lost.

Choose the file, select "Open" then Select "Install".

GolfTrac will be installed to the pilot on the next HotSync.
