Disk No: 842 Program Title: BOX version 1.4 PC-SIG version: 1.4 BOX is a screen-designing tool that lets you quickly create entry screens and menus. You start with a blank screen, and using simple commands you can draw lines, boxes, enter text, and change foreground and background colors. You can repeat an entry, paint an area, and select special characters from an ASCII table. Boxes are incredibly easy to design, and several different border lines are provided to create them. Any screen can be saved in either ASCII, memory, or packed format. ASCII format lets you save your screen so it can be edited by a wordprocessor, but it does not save color and the screens appear line-by-line on the monitor. With the memory format, screens are essentially a snapshot "dump" of the video memory-buffer. This format saves the color, but it can- not be edited by a wordprocessor. You can, however, re-edit any screen with BOX. The packed format is the same as the memory format, except that the file is compressed. Any saved file can be loaded directly from a Pascal or C program. The packed file can be loaded using a Pascal screen-loading procedure, but will take more time to access. This disk contains sample routines that you can incorporate in your Turbo Pascal programs. Usage: Screen Design/Programming Utility. Special Requirements: None. How to Start: Type GO (press enter).
