Are you one of those people who needs to play a game of chance at least
once a day?  If so, this games disk is for you.

The first game, POKER, plays draw poker head-to-head.  POKER has a
sophisticated style of playing and betting, and is intended to provide a
challenge for the serious poker player.  POKER assumes that you know how
to play poker, but it requires no manual.  Just enter POKER, and the
program explains the mechanics.  The program runs on monochrome and
color monitors.

The program is honest.  The computer does not know what is in your hand
unless there is a showdown.  The computer has different patterns of
betting.  It has the ability to observe your style of betting and modify
its own behavior accordingly.

POKER is able to bluff in several ways.  The computer will sometimes
make large bets with bad hands and no bets with good hands.  Every
action it takes has at least two possible interpretations.  A run of
very good hands is just a coincidence.  The randomness of the shuffling
has been tested in simulations involving over half a million hands.  The
results mirror those expected in normal poker playing.

The second game on this disk, ULTIMA21, is a game that simulates the
card game Blackjack as played in the casinos.  The game is played
against the computer who is the dealer.  As you play, ULTIMA21 keeps
track of the number of hands played and who won each hand.  It also
shows your longest winning and losing streaks.  In addition, ULTIMA21
lets you set up your own options, which allow you to resplit aces,
double-down on any number of cards, make the dealer stand on seventeen,
turn the sound on during play, and do other things to keep it
interesting.

On the screen, the dealer's cards are shown on top, while your cards are
shown on the bottom.  The bottom line of the screen summarizes all the
commands available to you, so the game is quite easy to play.  ULTIMA21
requires a CGA color card.  It has also been tested on an EGA monitor,
and the game is quite colorful and fun to play.
