Program name: Notes on Display (Ver 1.1) Author name: Melvin O. Duke Address: P.O. Box 20836, San Jose, CA 95160 Telephone Number: (408)268-6637 Suggested Donation: $35.00 - $45.00 Program Description: The Notes on Display program is for anyone considering the task of tracing their own or someone else's lineage into the past. This program must be used in conjunction with the Genealogy on Display program provided on another diskette for maximum results. As any- one who has undertaken this work has found out, the effort involved in keeping track of the huge amount of data accumulated, is over- powering. This nifty program does that for the researcher with practically no effort at all. The investigator merely enters a record for each find made into the database with a short note des- cribing the find to clarify matters in the future. To aid in the process, the user will enter some relevant facts, such as, the person to whom this find relates, the source of the find (i.e. city state, church, etc.), the type of find (birth record, grave stone, etc.) and the date is usually helpful. After a short while a huge database will have been built with facts relating to many of the people in the past. Now this information can be viewed in some order and be made sense of. You may view a selected person, source or even type from the database. This data will be presented either on the screen or via the printed page. I think anyone doing this type of work will find this program a breeze to use and help in the reseach. Requires a minimum of 320K RAM. A printer and two floppy disk drives would be nice.
