	MAX  is a FREEWARE editor. The copyright remains solely with Ivo
	Welch/Jens  Christensen.  This  software  is  protected  by U.S.
	Copyright  Law (Title 17 U.S.  code).  Unauthorized reproduction
	and/or  sales  may  result in imprisonment of up to one year and
	fines   of   up  to  Dollar  10,000  (17  USC  506).   Copyright
	Infringers  may  be  subject  to  civil  liability.   Authorized
	reproduction  and  use  is  only  for  non-commercial  purposes.

	Specifically,  the  authors disallow 1) selling MAX, changing or
	deleting  copyright  notices (every addition/change to code does
	not  alter  the  copyright)  2) distributing MAX for more than a
	reasonable  amount  which covers redistribution costs (let's say
	$20.00)  and  3) distributing MAX or parts of it not as the full
	package  (to  prevent  proliferation  of  changed copies without
	source, and/or missing contracts, tutorials etc.).

	Specifically,  the authors allow private, non-commercial use and
	free  re-distribution of an infinite amount of copies AS LONG AS
	MAX  is  distributed  as an entity. This also means that all the
	original files/contents must be included.

Modifications:
	The  user  is allowed to modify MAX ( source code is included in
	the  package  )  under  the restriction that these modifications
	are  not  for  sale.   All modifications are public domain.  The
	authors  encourage  free  distribution of private modifications.
	Modifications  (  to  any  extent  )  do  not interfere with the
	exclusive  rights ( i.e. authorship and ownership ) of MAX ( and
	all  rights  associated  )  by  Ivo  Welch and Jens Christensen.
	Again,  the  user  agrees not to modify, or delete the copyright
	notice, name and version number of MAX.

Commercial Usage:
	Commercial  Usage  is  permitted  only for a contribution of $25
	minimum per used copy (i.e. per machine).

Responsibility:
	The  authors  of  MAX  assume  no  responsibility for any damage
	resulting  from  the use of MAX. The product is supplied "as is."

Contract Scope:
	Violation  of  the  terms  of  this  agreement  will  result  in
	immediate  termination  of  this contract without refund(s). The
	authors  reserve the right to terminate or modify this contract.
	Such  termination  will  occur  if  and  only if the authors see
	compelling  reasons  (  e.g.  violation  of  the  spirit of this
	contract  )  to  do so.  In this case, any contributions paid by
	the user will be refunded upon request.

Termination:
	Upon  termination  of  this contract, the user agrees not to use
	any  of  his  copies  of  MAX  again,  and to destroy all of his
	copies.

Distribution:
	The  authors  grant  the  right  of  re-distribution of MAX as a
	FREEWARE  editor  under  PC-SIG's  standard policies as of April
	1986  to  PC-SIG.  The  authors  are  very grateful to PC-SIG to
	performing this service.

Additions:
	All additions or modifications may be submitted ( and are appre-
	ciated ) to PC-SIG or Ivo Welch for inclusion in further distri-
	butions.
