DETAILED PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The IBR HEAT LOSS program asks a series of questions. The first questions ask the conditions the house will be be exposed to at the coldest time of the year. Then the questions determine the dimensions of a room. The next questions determine the size of openings in walls exposed to the outdoors. The questions than ask for the amount of heat that will flow through the dimensions of the rooms. If an answer needs correction, the operator may enter an ASTERISK * and the previous question will appear for correction. If help is required, pressing Alt and Period together will pop up an in-memory screen to provide more information. As the operator answers the heat flow questions the heat losses through the walls, ceiling, floor, or openings appear. The room total loss appears below the answers. A copy of the room loss may be kept using the DOS printscreen keys. INTENDED USER: Any interested party, but primarily a new or learning heating professional. The program is simple to use, and is intended for an inexperienced user who would like to find out how much heat will be lost from a room. The program may also be used by heating professionals for business use, as it is quick and simple to use. UNIQUE FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM: Most heat loss calculation programs are excessively complicated and too expensive.
