SHOW 1.5 READ.ME
----------------

Version 1.5 of the SHOW.EXE show viewer program was released
to address a specific problem reported while attempting to
run the program on an Epson Equity II computer equipped with
a generic Color Graphics Adapter. Due to limited hardware
compatibility with the CGA standard, SHOW caused erratic
display behavior (garbage on the screen) and eventual system
lockup.

SHOW accesses display hardware registers in a manner consistent
with the IBM CGA features described in the IBM PC Technical
Reference manual. Because high-intensity backgrounds are very
seldom used, certain clone CGA manufacturers have decided not to
implement this feature in their hardware. Similar problems may
exist with EGA clones which only implement a subset of the full
IBM EGA BIOS firmware.

If your display or computer exhibits unpredictable or alarming
behavior while running SHOW, use the /NH command-line switch when
running the program. This switch will disable high-intensity
backgrounds and eliminate the problem.

We apologize for any inconvenience or anguish this problem may
have caused you.

We also wish to think Ed Clark for calling the Forbin Project, Inc.
immediately after noticing the problem.
