In particular any category that indicates education about computers is appropriate. +-------------------+ | Short Description | +-------------------+ DOS command summary and tutorial {ASP} +--------------------+ | Medium Description | +--------------------+ DOS Summary is a hypertext tutorial and reference product which covers all DOS commands and drivers through MS-DOS version 5.0. Also added are tutorials covering memory management and how DOS starts. The program can be used in standalone or resident mode. {ASP} +------------------+ | Long Description | +------------------+ DOS Summary is a hypertext tutorial and reference product which covers all DOS commands and drivers through MS-DOS version 5.0. The program can be used in tutorial mode for learning DOS commands in either alphabetical order or by command groupings. Additional tutorial material on memory management and optimization plus what happens when DOS starts is provided. Hypertext organization allows the user to follow any education path that suits their needs. The program can be operated in standalone mode at the DOS prompt using either menus or command mode (e.g. start with DOSSUM or DOSSUM from the DOS prompt). When started in command mode you will be brought to the closest command listing which matches the command you specified, so you do not need to spell the full command or spell the command correctly. The program can also be operated in resident mode using conventional or expanded memory. This allows it to remain resident in your computer and be called up via hotkey as necessary. In this latter mode you can apply one hotkey to bring the program up to the last command examined or another to bring it up based on the word at the cursor position. Registered users are given a 190-page manual which includes copies of the screen text plus examples which do not appear in any shareware or registered software version. Also included (with permission) is a copy of the Qualitas program ASQ.EXE; a diagnostic and analysis program for memory use and additional evaluation software or offers from Shareable Software International. {ASP} +-----------------+ | Version History | +-----------------+ 1.0 Sep 90 Covered DOS commands only through DOS version 4.01. Released as $0 shareware. A maintenance release was made to correct a wrong zip code in the registration address. 2.0 Feb 92 Complete rewrite using hypertext technology and covering all DOS commands and drivers in greater depth than version 1.0. Released as $25 shareware. Registration benefits as described above in the "long" product description. Also released through a publisher (Shareable Software International). Note: Distribution of both versions is authorized so long as it is clear to users that while version 1.0 is "free" (requires registration in the form of a letter), version 2.0 is not free. +------------------------------+ | Author/Publisher Information | +------------------------------+ Computer Knowledge is a small business software company.
