     ASYST AND THE 387DX

         ASYST Rev 1.56 and earlier are incompatible with the 387(TM) DX.

     BASIC INTERPRETERS THAT SUPPORT THE 8087

         The PC Tech Journal from June, 1986 issue compared seven versions
         of Basic.  Here is their chart on math coprocessor support taken
         from page 52 of that issue.  Better Basic was judged the best in
         the review.

         Simon & Schuster Software reports this program can cause a
         computer to lock up when a math coprocessor is present.  Removing
         the math coprocessor may prevent the lockup.


     LOTUS 1-2-3 AND SYMPHONY @NA FUNCTION

         The @NA function in 1-2-3 version 2.01 and early versions of
         Symphony will not work correctly on a system with a 387DX
         installed. The problem has been corrected in 1-2-3 version 2.2.

     MATHSOFT MATHCAD 2.5

         A customer reported MathCad version 2.5 gave the error, "floating
         point module not loaded".  A previous version worked fine.  The
         vendor said it was caused by a compiler problem and would be

     MICROSOFT FORTRAN COMPILER V 4.0

         Microsoft Fortran Version 4.0 is incompatible with the 387.  It
         works fine with the 80287.  Contact Microsoft for more

     RELATIONAL SOFTWARE: SPSS/PC

         This program uses a math coprocessor, but may hang when checking
         for coprocessor.  A fix is available from SPSS tech support: 312-
         329-2400.


     SOFTWARE CAROUSEL PATCH FOR THE RARE 387DX ERROR
