With the purchase of a key, the user is hereby granted a limited license
to use PCBmoni/2 on one machine, and may be used in a networked environment, so
long as only one copy per registration is run concurrently. The use of PCBmoni/2

PCBmoni/2 is an OS/2 v2.x Presentation Manager version of the monitor
program supplied by Clark Development with v15.x releases. Q. Why should I be
interested? A. If you are not running OS/2 v2.x you shouldn't, if you are, this
program has a lot to offer. This program can use as little as %0.05 (estimated)
of your total CPU resources, as opposed to the DOS version shipped with PCBoard
which can use as much as %50 or more (estimated) while running in a DOS window
on your desktop (even with the os2speed utility loaded). Designed with a simple
intuitive point and click interface this program also takes up as little desktop
space as necessary for the current operation. During normal operations the
program is fully sizeable and moveable, and it's size and position on the desktop
is saved when you quit the program. Also featured are hot keyed selections for
all the menu items. Running in normal priority mode with a process priority
setting of 5, and updates every 250 - 500 milliseconds (recommended settings)
this program should use less than %1 of your CPU resources while scanning 2
nodes.

     Q. How did it come about? A. Out of need,,,, and forethought. If Clark
Development ever decides to produce an OS/2 version of PCBoard then a selection
of off the shelf utilities to work with it will be very nice. Clark Development
might even see the growing stock of off the shelf OS/2 utilities as an increased
incentive to produce an OS/2 version of our favorite software. All that aside,
it will be nice to keep abreast of node activity without further bogging down the
system. Users Manual

1. Requirements

     a. About 55k of memory
     b. OS/2 2.x
     c. About 75k of free disk space
     d. A PCBoard usernet.xxx file version 15.0 - 15.5
     e. SVGA 640x480 video mode is recommended (minimum).
     f. A ram drive is recommended (vdisk.sys in OS/2) to speed up access of
the usernet file to both the program and PCBoard nodes, and reduce
          disk access.
     g. A program license key.

2. Installation

     a. Copy the program to your primary pcb directory.
     b. Copy your program license key to the same directory.
     c. Drag a folder template to a folder or onto the desktop proper. When
it opens enter the full drive/path/filename to pcbmoni2.exe, click
on general and name it. That's it.

3. Operation

     a. Double click on the icon for PCBmoni/2. The first screen you will
be presented with is the Settings Dialog.

          i. Enter the full drive/path/filename to usernet.xxx.

ii. Valid process priorities range from -32 to 32. I have found
0 to be quite adequate, numbers towards the top and bottom of
               this range are discouraged.

iii. Update interval is the number of milliseconds between each
node. The total time to make a sweep through the entire
usernet file in seconds is approximately; (Number of nodes x
Update Interval / 1000). Intervals of less than 150
               milliseconds are not supported.

iv. After entering the information click on OK or hit enter. The
information will be saved in a file named pcbmoni2.ini in the
same directory as the program. If you move the usernet.xxx
file, delete pcbmoni2.ini and restart the program to
regenerate the ini file, this file also holds the windows size
and position. If you change video modes, PCBmoni/2 could
become lost off the screen the next time it's started. Just
Delete the ini file and restart.

          v. Once the program is running this dialog may be accessed via
the options, or by hitting Alt+S.

4. The next screen is the normal operating screen of PCBmoni/2. The first
time, it automatically sizes itself according to the number of nodes
declared in the usernet.xxx file, up to a maximum of ten. The user may
resize the window at will. The size and position will be saved on normal
     exits.

5. The following hot keys are available, Alt+S - Settings, Alt+X - Quit,
Alt+H - Help, Alt+A - About. Pull down menu choices are also: Settings,
     Quit, Help, About

     a. Settings, Drive/path/filename to usernet.xxx, Update Interval
(number of milliseconds between node updates), and Process priority
          on a scale of -32 to 32.

     b. Quit, Exit the program.

     c. Help, Not currently available but there for future inclusion of
          online help.

     d. About, Program Information

6. The up/down arrows may be used to scroll through the nodes.

7. Enter will initiate node edit, or double click on the node.

8. Left/right arrows will scroll the list box horizontally if the text length
in any one node exceeds the viewing area.

                     Authorized distribution sites:

Any site may distribute UNMODIFIED copies of the original archive. This
program is NOT shareware, and distribution of the archive with a key file is a
copyright violation!

                    Authorized key distribution sites:

License keys are available only through Advanced Networking at this time.
You may contact Michael Radcliff either via phone at (800) 625-7088, through
Fidonet at 1:313/10, or via Internet mail as michael.radcliff@dogalley.com. Key
cost is $25.00 per copy you wish to run concurrently. Payment may be made via
money order, Visa, Master Card, or Discover.

When placing an order via any method except phone, you should include your BBS
name EXACTLY as it appears in PCBsetup, inside quotes so there will be no
confusion, IE: "Master Mind BBS". You will also need to specify how the key is
to be delivered. It can be crashed to any Fido site for an additional $1.00
(CONUS), $3.00 outside CONUS, be sent via US mail for an additional $5.00,
International mail for $12.00, or as a UUENCODED Internet mail attachment. If
you would like to d-load it off my bbs (DogAlley, (505) 625-1814) include a login
name, and password, it may also be setup for Fido freq. The key file is 8 bytes
long, snail mailed copies will have the full program files. It may also be given
to you in HEX if you wish to manually create it with a hex editor.

For credit card orders I need:

Card members name as it appears on the card,
  Card Number,
  Expiration Date.

Money orders should be mailed to:
