RUNNING DICTDOOR.....................................................3

DICTDOOR is run by typing "DICTDOOR config" where config is your
configuration file. The configuration file is an ASCII file that must be
as follows :

Line 1 : door data file type
Line 2 : path to the door data file
Line 3 : BBS Name
Line 4 : Sysop's Name
Line 5 : Locked baud rate
Line 6 : Registration number
Line 7 : path to the dictdoor datafiles

As illustrated above, the door's data file type is specified in line 1 and
can be
PCB : PCBOARD
GAP : DOOR.SYS
SF : SPITFIRE
RBBS : RBBS
WC : WILDCAT!
TRIBBS : TRIBBS
WWIV : WWIV.

The locked baud rate is specified in line 5. If the sysop doesn't lock
his serial port, he must specify 0 for the locked baud rate.
NOTE: Although many door formats do pass the locked baud rate in the door
data files, some older formats such as RBBS do not. For conformity,
DICTDOOR requires that you specify the locked baud rate in line 5 and
ignores any value passed in the door data files.

The following is a sample door configuration file:

GAP
c:\node1
The Late BBS
Michel Carmel Bugeja
57600
456435346
c:\doors\dict

DICTDOOR can run locally without a door data file (handy for the sysop to
use the door without logging on to the BBS) by specifying /L after the
configuration file parameter in the DOS command line. Thus typing DICTDOOR
config /L. DICTDOOR will request the user to enter his name before running.

Nonstandard IRQs can be used with DICTDOOR by specifying the IRQ number
after the "config" parameter in the command line. Thus typing DICTDOOR
config irq, where irq is the IRQ number.

DICTDOOR is capable of maintaining the dictionary file. The sysop may
add keywords at the end of the file and then specify MAINTENANCE as the
second parameter in the command line. Thus DICTDOOR config MAINT. As
you may see MAINT is enough for DICTDOOR to understand that you need to
run the maintenance. It is important that you run the maintenance after
that you add keywords so that they are listed in the "List Key words".

SPECIAL KEYS.........................................................4

While DICTDOOR is running, the sysop can press certain special keys to
perform a variety of functions. The following is a list of the functions
that DICTDOOR special keys perform.

Key(s) Function

HOME Toggles between the user status window and a help display that
	lists the DICTDOOR special keys

F6 Take 5 minutes away from the caller. NOTE: This will not be
	returned to the BBS.

F7 Give 5 minutes to the caller. NOTE: This will not be returned
	to the BBS.

F9 Quit the door and return the caller to the BBS.

F10 Enter chat mode. Pressing ESC key exits the chat mode.

Alt+D Drop to DOS.

ADDING TO THE DICTIONARY............................................5

Just edit the file COMMS.DIC using the following method:

insert a carrot before the Heading ^Online Dictionary
insert an asterix before an abbrev. *DICTDOOR
Enter Description The Ultimate online dictionary
Insert a space.

It is important to run the Maintenance after that you edit the COMMS.DIC
file. Registered versions may find a file ADD.DIC . This is created by
the program when a user adds something to the dictionary.

REGISTRATION........................................................6

Registration of DICTDOOR is only $15. Please use the form in the file
REGISTER.TXT. When you register DICTDOOR, you will receive a letter of
letter of verification and your personal code. You will receive a new
COMMS.DIC with alot of more keywords than the one supplied with this
shareware version. You will also be rewarded access to download your
upgrades of DICTDOOR freely from our BBS.
