FontLine v1.0
=============

'FontLine' is a utility for Windows 3.1 for rotating and stretching a line of
text without needing a drawing package.

The resulting text can be used for headlines and banners in posters,
presentations and newsletters.

How to Use
----------

Install FontLine simply by copying fontline.exe to a convenient directory. In
Windows, install its icon in a suitable group.

On running the program, you will see that the window just says 'Text'.

1. Change the text by clicking the 'Text' menu item and typing your own text
   in the box.
2. In the dialog box, change the angle you want the text tilted. The angle
counts anti-clockwise. Negative values are allowed.
3. Change the width value to stretch or compress the text. Leave it as zero if
you don't want it changed. Experiment with values from 10 to 50 say.
4. Similarly, change the spacing between the characters if necessary. Positive
values increase the space, negative reduces.
5. Click the 'Font' menu item to change the font. Your scalable fonts will be
available (i.e. TrueType, ATM and Vector).
6. Resize the window to get the result to just fit.
7. Click the menu 'Copy' to copy the result to the Clipboard as a bitmap.
8. In your target package (eg MS Word, PowerPoint, Paintbrush), select 'paste'
   to include the result.

FontLine is offered free with the usual disclaimers.

Best wishes.
