::IT BEGINS--->

  Thank you for trying Dink's Doppleganger, the playable demo -- an "opening"
  actually -- to the full game which will be released on June 30th, 1998.
  This is intended as a taste of what's to come. The demo can be completed in
  about an hour in many cases. The full version will be MUCH longer.

::INSTALLATION--->

  Installation is easy.

  If you are using PKUNZIP for DOS, follow these steps:
      MD C:\DINK\DDOP   <enter>
      (copy the DDOP ZIP file to this new directory)
      CD C:\DINK\DDOP   <enter>
      PKUNZIP -DO D-DOP*.ZIP

  If you are using WinZIP, it's a lot easier. Just extract the files to
  C:\DINK\DDOP and make sure to check the "use folder names" option. If you
  end up with no subdirectories inside C:\DINK\DDOP then you did it wrong.

  To play Dink's Doppleganger Demo:
      CD \DINK <enter>
      DINK -GAME DDOP <enter>

::THE BIG PICTURE--->

  It would be nice to think that I'm spending hours and hours a day to write
  such an awesome game because I want something cool to give away to people.
  The first part is definitely true, anyway. In a perfect world, I wouldn't
  need to work. In a perfect world, people could slave away for months at a
  time and give away their hard work for free because it was a good gesture
  to humanity, and because all those long hours and brain-melting sessions
  at the computer meant nothing and should in no way be charged for.

  This isn't a perfect world. The fact is, I can't write games that take 3
  months to complete and give them away for free. Anybody who is able to do
  this has the luxury of not living in the real world, and I genuinely
  applaud their kindness. :)

  However, I can do the next best thing -- which is make it so dirt cheap
  that it's the closest thing there is to being free. The full version of
  Dink's Doppleganger is just (drumroll please) $6 measley dollars. I paid
  more than this just in garage parking on a single day when I went to
  Orlando. $6 is nothing. So, how could it *possibly* get any better?

  If you Pre-Order (place your order while the game is still in development),
  you get it for just $4. Yep. Just $4. Pre-Order by June 30th to receive
  this low price. The only drawback (if this can even be considered one) is
  that you'll have to live with just the demo until the game is actually
  released on June 30th. This is why it's called "Pre-Ordering."

  If you're interested in purchasing the full version of Dink's Doppleganger,
  be sure to check out the REGISTER.TXT file!

::ORIGINAL MUSIC--->

  Dink's Doppleganger DEMO features not 1... not 2... but TWELVE unique
  MIDI tracks. There were others I'd planned to use, but I had to replace
  them with my own when the author refused to license them to me (despite
  the fact that he openly requests game disigners to contact him for
  licensing... go figure).

::ORIGINAL GRAPHICS--->

  Dink's Doppleganger DEMO also includes quite a few new graphics and tiles.
  You'll notice that some areas are almost completely made up of new graphics.
  The full version will have even MORE new graphics. You won't want to miss
  it! Pre-Order your copy (or simply order after June 30th) TODAY!

  I would like to thank my beta testers: Marc Buhmann, Brian Johanson, Rue
  Nelson, Nicholas C. Godlove, Matt Flook, Nate Collins, and Kevin Kazimir.
  Also, a big thanks to my sweetie, Abby Yaeger. Thanks to Daniel for
  licensing some killer tracks for the game (more of his work will probably

  Robinson for creating such a kick-ass gaming engine!
