AB The effect of various preparations of human interferon (HuIFN) upon
human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) replication in cell lines and
primary cultures of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) was investigated.
Natural interferon alpha (nHuIFN-alpha) exhibited a much higher
inhibitory effect upon HIV-1 replication than did recombinant
       HuIFN-alpha (rHuIFN-alpha).
