  WCLawNet: Bylaws

This document details the statement of purpose, member requirements,
rules, regulations and policies of WCLawNet. Rules and regulations may
be contested by members or users. The Network Administrator may Add,
Delete, or Amend WCLawNet rules and regulations at his discretion.

  Purpose

The purpose of the WCLawNet is to make information widely available to
the Law Enforcement and Public communities. This is done by providing
message areas as an open forum for the exchange of ideas.

  Minimum Requirements

Only Sysops who are sworn peace officers actively employed by a
law enforcement agency may carry all the conferences.

All members must carry the WCLawNet <NET> public access and LE
restricted access conferences. The <NET> public access conferences
may be echoed by a BBS whose Sysop is not a sworn peace officer but
the BBS in question will not have access to the LE conferences.

The Admin conference is for WCLawNet Member Sysops only and access
must not be granted to other callers.

Access to all the LE conferences must be limited to callers that are
verified as employed in Law Enforcement. The employment must be verified
by independent or first hand means that allow no margin for error due
to the sensitivity of some of the conferences. A member board that is
proven to have failed to do so will be dropped from the net.

All members must have bulletins containing the information within the
RULES.TXT readily available to all users in all network conferences.

Members are required to obey the law. Any member engaged in or
promoting illegal activities will be expelled from WCLawNet.

WCLawNet message conferences will be made available to callers for no
  charge.

WCLawNet conferences are not to be bridged with the conferences of other
  networks.

Members must follow the WCLawNet conference rules and encourage their
callers to do so as well.

WCLawNet member boards must not allow uploads of or have on their board
conferences or files of an Adult Rated, X-Rated, etc. nature.

Only WCLawNet members are to be permitted to carry the net conferences.

  Joining WCLawNet

If you are interested in carrying WCLawNet on your BBS please fill out the
WCLAWNET.FRM file and submit it to the WCLawNet Administrator. Submissions
may be made either electronically (by calling the WCLawNet Hub BBS) or by
mail. Further instructions for application are in the file WCLAWNET.FRM.

  Administration

The WCLawNet Administrator is responsible for the day to day operation
of the network, assisting new members, resolving technical problems and
operating the network hub. Conference Moderators have been assigned to
  monitor traffic in specific conferences.
