A request was made for an update to Signal. While WER's "News that stays
news" is true, it does need an update here and there.

FactSheet Five is the central clearinghouse of information about zines,
those opinionated publications with press runs of 50 to 5000 (often done
through surrepticious use of on-the-job supplies and xerox). Mike Gunderloy
of Rennsalaer, NY published 44 editions of F5. Hudson Luce published the
final issue, #45. I opened my big mouth (or, rather, let my fingers blab
away) about doing an online, net-accessible version of FactSheet Five.

So, we have FactSheet Five - Electric, based on WELL. F5-E is free to all
who request it - if you can get email or ftp, you can have the files. We
have reviewed some 16 categories of zines to date. I post the details of
what is available on WELL and in rec.mag. I see I'll have to post such data
here, also.

Anyway, to get review files, or more information, or just to find out what
the hell all this zine noise is email me, jerod23@well.sf.ca.us.

[note: Factsheet Five - Electronic is available for anonymous FTP from

Msen provides internet access, contact info@msen.com for details.
