TV Agent requires:
 > an EGA/VGA monitor (color much preferred)
 > about 500K of free memory
 > about 2 megabytes of disk space for this demo (about 6 megabytes when
you have decompressed all the listings for the next 8 days)
 > PKUNZIP.EXE v2.04g on your PATH or in the directory with TVAGENT.EXE
 > FILES=50 or more in your CONFIG.SYS
 > a FAT hard drive (like DOS uses -- not an HPFS drive like OS/2 )
(This demo will work on HPFS, but the hidden authorization used with
the subscription version won't work on HPFS )

You've PKUNZIPped TVADEMO2.ZIP into its own directory. Start it with

C:\TV> TVAGENT

If you don't have a mouse, you can activate any control by holding down
the ALT key and adding the letter that is a different color in the name of
the control. (For instance to press the "Users" button, the "U" is a
different color so ALT-U will work.)

The first time you use TV Agent, it will have to decompress the listings.
Then you will set up a user name and set your time zone.

After the first session you can skip the opening menus and go straight to
the current listings if you include an existing user name in the command
line:

C:\TV> TVAGENT JOE

The help system is the documentation. Hitting "HELP" buttons will show you
pieces of it in context. All the help text is included in the ASCII file
ALLHELP.TV2 . Use the PRINT ALL button on the help screen to get it all on
paper.

When you subscribe to TV Agent you must routinely download or FTP listings
at least once a week. (The listings come to you via satellite datastream
if you subscribe to Planet Connect or Skylink.) See the file WHERE.LST for
suggested sites.

Two days of listings (Aug 7-8, '96) are included in this demo. These are
"fresh" listings, including changes made less than 48 hours before air
time. Every day, subscribers to TV Agent can get fresh listings for today
and tomorrow, and advance listings (prepared a week in advance) for the
next 6 days. This demo works on any day, but it ONLY works with listings
from the first 8 days of any month.

You can use this demo with CURRENT listings if you download listings near
the first of any month. The filenames for the first week of any month are
TVLIST01.* thru TVLIST08.* . They are PKZIPped files, but the extension
may be .ARC or .ZIP. The demo pretends the current date is the first day
for which you have listings. It does not change your computer's clock.

To view listings for the 9th or later days in the month, you need to
subscribe.

All the setup work you do with the demo can be saved and used with the
subscription version by copying the U*.* and SYSCON.TVA files from the
demo directory into the directory where you install the subscription
version.
