RE: Expiration of special pricing offer on September 30, 1993

Just a brief reminder about the special pricing for WinVision, our new
speech access program for MicroSoft Windows 3.1. Remember that owners
of Business Vision 3.0x systems registered prior to June 1, 1993 may
purchase WinVision for US$295.00 (a savings of US$200.00 from the retail
price of US$495.00) ... but only through September 30, 1993.

We have no doubt that you have an excellent memory, but we felt that this
issue was important enough to deserve a reminder. After all, MicroSoft
Windows has been a major concern for blind computer users ever since its
introduction. The concern was understandable since the Graphical User
Interface essentially took away the computer access that had been gained
under DOS. Also, it rapidly became evident that Windows is the "wave of
the future" for personal computers. This is obvious just by the amount of
effort that manufacturers of application programs are putting into Windows
based products, as opposed to their efforts for the DOS environment. The
fact that the majority of personal computers are now shipped with Windows
already installed is a pretty good indication too!

Of course, now that blind and low vision computer users have complete access
to their systems again, some of the benefits of Windows are also starting to
become apparent. Like the fact that application programs are far more
standardized in their set-up and operation under Windows than under DOS,
which means a far shorter learning curve with new applications. Another
benefit is that Windows is its own memory manager so users no longer have to
worry about how much memory they can add to their system or how it will be
controlled.

There are many advantages to Windows and, with WinVision, blind computer
users can now discover these advantages for themselves.
