The supplied WordPerfect environment is compatible with both WP
5.x and WP 6.x. Be sure you are using Vocal-Eyes 3.0 or greater.

Since these two versions of WordPerfect are substantially
different, we have grouped the .SET files into two clusters:
WP5*.SET and WP6*.SET. One file, WP.SET, looks at your copyright
screen and determines which version of WordPerfect you're using.
It then loads the appropriate .SET file and is not seen again
until the next time you run WordPerfect.

Three key label dictionaries have been provided. WP.KEY is for
use with the default WordPerfect 6.0 keyboard layout. WP5.KEY
is for use with WordPerfect 5.x. WPF3HELP.KEY is for use with
the "WordPerfect 5.1 Keyboard" in WordPerfect 6.0. If you used
the INSTALL program that came with your Vocal-Eyes 3.0 disk to
install these .SET files and you selected only one version of
WordPerfect, the INSTALL program has already renamed your key
label dictionary correctly. If you installed the .SET files for
both versions of WordPerfect and you plan
to use WordPerfect 5.x exclusively, copy WP5.KEY to WP.KEY and
let Vocal-Eyes' autoloading feature load it for you. to do this,
type the following:

               COPY WP5.KEY WP.KEY

If you plan to use the WordPerfect 5.1 keyboard layout in WP 6.0,
type the following:

               COPY WPF3HELP.KEY WP.KEY

In either case, this command will overwrite your existing WP.KEY,
so don't do it unless you mean it.

The following section refers to WordPerfect 6.0. If you are
planning to use WordPerfect 5.0, 5.1, or 5.1 plus see below,
"WordPerfect 5.0, 5.1, and 5.1+."

WordPerfect 6.0

These settings assume that you are using the WordPerfect default
settings for color, menu bar, etc. If you make changes in your
WordPerfect set-up, you may need to make minor changes in these
Vocal-Eyes .SET files.

Most of the standard read hot keys work as described in the
manual. For example, use CTRL-B for previous character, CTRL-C
for current character and CTRL-D for next character. The same is
true for word, line, and paragraph. Exceptions include CTRL-R
for the repeat value instead of for reading the previous
sentence. CTRL-Y switches from one document to another rather
than reading the next word.

The following hot keys have been added to enhance WordPerfect
6.0:

ALT-W This will read your entire work area. This includes
lines 1 through 24. This is the window 0 hot key.

ALT-S This will read your status line. This is actually
line 25. This is the window 1 hot key.

CTRL-A This will read your WordPerfect cursor position. This
is the window 2 hot key.

ALT-B This will read a box displayed on the screen.

ALT-C This will read the highlighted item in a menu.

ALT-R This will read your entire document from the cursor
position to the end of the document. This is the Read
To End hot key. It can be stopped by pressing the
          ESCAPE key.

CTRL-H This will read the blocked text displayed on the
          screen.

ALT-U This will read any underlined text displayed on the
          screen.

ALT-M This will red the menu displayed at the top of the
          screen.

Within the speller:

CTRL-W reads the misspelled word. Pressing it a second time
          will spell the word.

CTRL-L reads the line on which the misspelled word appears.

CTRL-S reads the sentence in which the misspelled word
          appears.

CTRL-P reads the paragraph surrounding the misspelled word.

ALT-B reads the messages. These are read automatically, but
you may want to listen to them again from time to time.

ALT-O reads the options offered by WordPerfect. Notice that
each item in the list is read and then spelled.

ALT-F reads the highlighted item which will be filled in in
          place of your misspelled word.

ALT-S reads the menu.

CTRL-A reads your address within the document.

ALT-W reads the work area, i.e. the context around the
          misspelled word.

TAB Moves you from one menu item to another and speaks the
          item.

When you enter the thesaurus option, you can hear the word you
are looking up by pressing Control-E. Also, if you want to hear
the first column of options, simply press ALT-X. To hear the
second column of options, press ALT-Y and to hear the third
column of options, press ALT-Z. The standard Review, Menu, and
bypass hot keys are also available.

When you move into a menu such as Format or Print, light bar
tracking is turned on and the arrow keys and tab key will speak
the highlighted item as you navigate through the list. In some
of these menus there is a list of options at the bottom of the
menu which is usually displayed listed in blue and to which your
cursor may not move. These items can be read by pressing ALT-M.

In Grammatik:

ALT-S reads the status line.

ALT-A reads the advice.

ALT-R reads the suggested replacement. Notice this will
          spell the item.

ALT-W reads the context around your error. This is window 0.

ALT-M reads the menu.

ALT-F READS THE HIGHLIGHTED "PROBLEM."

Also, a few cursoring keys have been modified and added to the
defaults. You will notice the TAB and BACK-TAB will read your
WordPerfect cursor position and the Page Up and Page Down keys
will read your work area (window 0). Also, the keypad dash (-)
and plus (+) have been set up to read the current work area.

CTRL-END has been setup to read all characters from the cursor to
the end of the line.

If you don't care for the particular placement of a hot key or
you don't like what a particular cursoring key is speaking, feel
free to change them to your liking. If you wish, you can setup
some of the read attribute hot keys.

The WP6.SET file actually jumps among several .SET files. For
example, a hyperactive window has been set up to load
WP6FILES.SET when the list files option has been selected. The
same is true for the spell checker, the menus and reveal codes
sections. Keep this in mind as you make changes. For example,
if
you wish to change the speech rate, you will probably wish to
change it for each .SET file.

Feel free to use the utility SET2TEXT to convert the supplied
.SET files into readable ASCII text files. This gives you a
convenient way to see the default settings. Also, TEXT2SET can
be used to change one or two items in all the WP*.SET files or
only the WP6*.SET files.

Remember, you can change any of the default values supplied here.
This is simply meant to get you started.

WordPerfect 5.0, 5.1, and 5.1+

to hear the context around the misspelled word, simply issue the
