Vocal-Eyes Set File

In the following paragraphs, you will find a break down of the
window definition, as well as hot key and cursor key assignments
for the set file contained in this issue of the CBFB Newsletter.
There are also explanatory notes that I hope will answer any
questions you may have concerning this set file.

Window One
Dimensions: left 1, top 2, right 80, bottom 24
Bar tracking: cyan on black (color) white on black (monochrome)

This window is most useful when using the contact sensitive help.
However, it also works in the "applications" menu in PC Shell and
in the menus in Compress and Diskfix.

Window Two
Dimensions: left 45, top 2, right 65, bottom 24
Bar tracking: cyan on black (color) white on black (monochrome)

Use this window when changing function key assignments.

Window Three
Dimensions: left 1, top 1, right 80, bottom 25
Bar tracking: none

Window Four
Dimensions: left 1, top 2, right 80, bottom 3
Bar tracking: none
Hot key: control a

When the directory list is active, this window displays the
current volume name for the active drive. When the file list is
active, this window displays the current selection criterion.
Finally, you can see what viewer is in use when using the [f -2]
quick view in PC Shell.

Window Five
Dimensions: left 1, top 25, right 80, bottom 25
Bar tracking: none
Hot key: control s

This window reads the status line. This status line is present
in all PC Tools programs.

Window Six
Dimensions: left 1, top 24, right 80, bottom 24
Bar tracking: none
Hot key: control p

This window will read the complete DOS path when the command-line
is active in PC Shell.

Window Seven
Dimensions: left 1, top 3, right 80, bottom 24
Bar tracking: none
Hot key: control v

This window encompasses the view screen when using the [f -2]
quick view. The page up and page down keys move by one screen in
each direction. Before you can use the page up and page down
keys, you must turn bar tracking off in the current window.

Window Eight
Dimensions: left 30, top 4, right 80, bottom 24
Bar tracking: bright white on blinking red (color) black on white
(monochrome)
Hot key: control f

This window reads the file list window. However, if your hard
disk has more than two logical partitions, you may want to
reassign the hot key.

Window Nine
Dimensions: left 1, top 4, right 17, bottom 24
Bar tracking: bright white on blinking red (color) black on white
(monochrome)
Hot key: control t

This window reads the directory tree list. I have selected
control t as the hot key because control d will change to drive d
when your hard disk has more than one partition.

Window Zero
Dimensions: left 1, top 1, right 80, bottom 25
Bar tracking: bright white on blinking red (color) black on white
(monochrome)

This is the default start up window. Tracks both the tree list
and the file list.

Hot Keys

To save space and reduce confusion, I am listing here only those
keys that have been defined.

Window Zero: alt -0
Window One: alt -1
Window Two: alt -2
Window Three: alt -3
Window Four: ctrl a
Window Five: ctrl -s
Window Six: ctrl -p
Window Seven: ctrl -v
Window Eight: ctrl -t
Window Nine: ctrl -f

Read Box: f -11
Read to End: f -12
Normal: alt -n
Reverse: ctrl -r
Highlighted: alt -h
User Attribute: alt -u
Read Bar: alt -b
Menu: ctrl backslash
Bypass: ctrl -n
Attribute on/off: alt -q
Bar Toggle: alt -t
Select Window: alt -w
Load Ram Set: alt -accent

When you assign additional hot keys, remember that [alt] plus
[a], [s], [d], [f], and [o] open the menus in the horizontal menu
bar. You might also wish to avoid assigning hot keys to [ctrl]
plus [drive:] where [drive:] is the letter of any drives on your
system. The reason is that [ctrl] plus [d:] changes the active
drive.
