This is a rough draft discription with instructions
for running EasySCan in DeskView. Please read carefully before using this
information. This example assumes that you are using Artic Vision 3.3
as the speech system. I have also used DeskView successfully with Vocal-Eyes.

The configuration files supplied in this ZIP file are the one's that I use
with my Vectra RS20 and Artic 3.3 at home. I am supplying them because of calls
that I have recieved asking me for DeskView support. . The one that interest's
people the most is the DV.CFG configuration file. This file can be used with DeskView,
but in no way does this mean that I support or indorse DeskView. Artic works OK with DeskView
if you understand it's limitations. Artic wasn't written with DeskView
in mind, so Artic knows nothing about Deskview and DeskView knows nothing
about Artic. At this time, the Arkenstone Reader works with DeskView, but
it isn't supported. This means that it is up to the individual to configure
there system for DeskView. However, I will give you some suggestions.
These suggestions were written with the understanding that a person has got
DeskView up and running, and needs spacific instructions to make it work
with the Arkenstone. Listed below are the steps to take to make the EAsySCan
program work with Deskview.

1. Create a DV.BAT file to call up DeskView.
        The folowing is a sample.
                @echo off
rem: Change the directory to the one that your ARkenstone
                rem: software is located in.
                CLS
                g:\CALERA\BIN\INPATH g:\CALERA\BIN
                IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO SKIP
                g:\CALERA\BIN\CDP -v -a -datbus:dc -s01hpsjet.sdc
        ECHO Adding g:\CALERA\BIN to PATH.
                PATH g:\CALERA\BIN;%PATH%
                :SKIP
                c:
                c:\artic\vision\vload dv
                cd\dv
                dv

2. Copy the EASY.BAT file and call it EA.BAT. Place this BAT file in your
batch directory. This file will be used by DeskView to run the EAsyScan
        program.
                @ECHO OFF
                g:
                rem EASY.BAT -- Copyright (c) 1989-90, Arkenstone Inc.
rem EasyScan written for Arkenstone by Personal Data Systems, Inc.
                g:\CALERA\BIN\INPATH g:\CALERA\BIN >nul
                IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO SKIP
                CLS
                g:\CALERA\BIN\CDP -v -a -datbus:dc -s01hpsjet.sdc
                PATH g:\CALERA\BIN;%PATH%
                :SKIP
                scanall -x %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8

3. Use the screen below to configure DeskView to work with Artic.
This configuration screen shows you how to make the DESQ key be the right
alt key. This means that you use the RIGHT ALT KEY to get to the deskView
screen that allows you to minipulate DeskView. To get into this screen
get into the directory that contains DeskView. Then type install.
Get to the option that allows you to configure the keys for DeskView (define
system keys).

4. Now that you have set up DeskView to use the RIGHT ALT KEY to get the
DeskView window, use the screens below to configure the EA.BAT file for
EAsySCan. You have to use the AP (add program) option in DeskView to add
the EAsyScan program. I used the CP option in DeskView to show
you the configuration that I used.
