Installing NetWare for SAA V1.3.14

A. Will you be installing NetWare for SAA on an existing NetWare 3.11
server?

If YES
  1. Down the server
  2. Exit to DOS
  3. Back up the server (installed files will overwrite existing files)

If NO 
  1. Create a DOS partition, of at least 15MB, on the hard drive.
  2. Create a subdirectory for the SYSTEM-1 diskette. (See NetWare 3.11
  Installation Guide).
  3. Install the NetWare 3.11 Operating System.
  4. Load the NIC drivers and bind IPX to the NIC.

B. Then create two subdirectories on a hard drive (if this is a network
drive do not create them in the system directory).
  - One named COMMEXEC
  XCopy (for the C: drive, XCOPY A:\*.* C:[path]\COMMEXEC\*.*/S/V the
  following diskettes into the directory (XCOPY:
        Commexec Disk 1
        Commexec Disk 2
        Commexec Disk 3 
  - One named NWSAA
  XCopy, in the same manner, the following diskettes into the NWSAA
  directory:
        Installation Disk 1
        Installation Disk 2
        Installation Disk 3

C. Patch SERVER.EXE:
  1. From Disk #7 (Misc. Support Files Disk 1 of 2) copy XLOAD.EXE and
  LDR001.PTF to the directory where SERVER.EXE is located.
  2. Make sure your DOS partition has enough space for another copy of
  SERVER.EXE.
  3. Execute the following command from the directory where SERVER.EXE is
  located:
     XLOAD LDR001.PTF SERVER.EXE

D. Edit STARTUP.NCF file.  (see Chapter 3 of the Administration Guide for
details).

E. Enter SERVER to bring up the 3.11 Operating System.

F. Establish a network connection to the server.

G. Go to SYS:SYSTEM and enter; FLAG *.* +SRW 
H. From the workstation copy to SYS:SYSTEM on the NetWare for SAA server:
     1. Disk #7, (Misc. Support Files Disk 1 of 2).
     2. All files from the BTRIEVE subdirectory of Disk #8 (Misc. Support
     Files Disk 2 of 2).  See BTRIEVE README for details.

I. UNLOAD BTRIEVE if it is loaded.

J. ENTER
        LOAD BTRIEVE -p=4096

K. ENTER
        LOAD INSTALL

L. Select Product Options and press ENTER.

M. At the Currently Installed Products window:
     1. press <Insert>. 
     2. ENTER
           C:[path]\COMMEXEC
     3. Press <insert> and enter C:[path]\NWSAA to install NetWare for SAA.

N. Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF (see Chapter 3 of the Administration Guide for more
detailed instructions)
     1. ESCape to the Installation Options menu.
     2. Select System Options.
     3. Select Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF option and add the following in order:
        LOAD CLIB
        LOAD LSLENH
        LOAD SPXFIX2      
           (NOTE:SPXFIX2 is in STRTLI.EXE in Compuserve NOVLIB Library 9) 
        LOAD SPXS
        LOAD BTRIEVE -u=1 -p=4096 -f=20 -h=60 -l=20 -c

        SET MAXIMUM PACKET RECEIVE BUFFERS=2000
        ;LOAD command for adapter card (a token ring example follows)
           LOAD TOKEN port=OA20 int=2 node=70930004 name=ADPT1
        ;LOAD and BIND commands for IPX network connection
              .
              .
        LOAD COMMEXEC
        LOAD DLM
        LOAD SMA

O. ESCape to the server prompt.

P. Down and EXIT server.

Q. At the DOS prompt, run SERVER.EXE.

R. After the server comes up configure your profiles (see Chapter 5 of the
Administration Guide for details)
