SMCap Written By CMH Electronics March 1994 Introduction SMCap is a small program that is intended to mimic some of the actions of Novell's capture. SMCap was designed to allow access to Novell's print spooling redirector. In particular, SMCap will more readily allow you to direct your printouts to the queue of your choice from within an application. Because SMCap is about 140KB smaller than capture, it has a better chance of being successfully executed from within a large program. Running SMCap To use SMCap enter SMCAP lpt# queuename from the command line. "lpt#" is the number of the printer port which you wish to redirect, and "queuename" is the name of the queue to which you wish to redirect it. Notes At this time the queue must be described in the bindery on the default server. There is no endcap facility; Novell's endcap is quite small. There is however an implicit endcap when you select a new queue. This program has been tested only on Novell 3.10 and 3.12. Shareware Concept SMCap is our first attempt to offer a program under the shareware concept.
