QSTAT.EXE 1/10/91 This is a simple, straight-forward utility to provide information about a Print Queue's status without the layers of menu and memory usage of PConsole. It is not interactive in any way, simply a command to provide the same type of information that PConsole does about a Queue's current job entries. I wrote this utility in Turbo Pascal 5.5, using the Novell System Calls for DOS reference manuals. The current version of Systems Calls for DOS does not document the calls that PServer uses, primarily in regard to Printer Status and Form Mounted, so QSTAT can't provide this information at present. To Use: At any workstation, type QSTAT and the name of a Print Queue on the current default server. The jobs are displayed in the order they were placed in the Queue, not necessarily the order they will be printed in if someone uses PConsole to resequence the Queue. Typing QSTAT with no arguments will display the same information about all of the queues that you are currently capturing to, provided all of the queues exist on the current default server. Qstat is small enough to run from the DOS shell of most application programs, so users can now get print queue status information from within their application, rather than exiting, loading PConsole and navigating the menus. I hope you find it of some use! Jay Seaman 76424,2625
