SYMPTOM

(01/13/94) DOSINST.OVL

While installing PERSONAL NetWare from DOS, the user's workstation hung;
however, the user could install PERSONAL NetWare through Windows just fine.

SOLUTION

Overwrite the DOSINST.OVL on Installation and Utilities 1 disk with the new
DOSINST.OVL file.  (PERSONAL NetWare disks only and not Novell DOS 7 disks.)

Note:  This file has been updated in the production box for German, French,
Italian and Spanish.


SYMPTOM
 (03/16/94)  DPMS (1.1)

DPMS fixes minor problems from the original shipping version.

Note:  This vesion may cause a problem with PKUNZIP 2.04g causing a reboot
with DPMS, NWCACHE and (DPMI=ON and/or MULTI=ON).  The temporary workaround is
to use this an older version of DPMS *or* turn off MULTI and DPMI.

Engineering is aware of this issue and is working on a solution.

(9/21/94)  DPMS (1.2)

DPMS is incompatible with 386MAX when 386MAX has been configured with the
EMS=0 option. DPMS has been modified to inform the user to reconfigure 386MAX
to use the NOFRAME option instead.



(11/15/94)  DPMS.EXE 1.3 
This fixes a machine reboot problem seen when MULTI and DPMI are
enabled, NWCACHE is loaded and PKUNZIP is executed.


SOLUTION

This DPMS.EXE file is a more current version of the DPMS.EXE file than the one
that ships with PERSONAL NetWare or Novell DOS 7 (PNW or NWDOS7).



SYMPTOM

(04/04/94)  NET.EXE
If you try to map a drive after you captured a port, the following redirection
error is returned:

Note:  This file has been updated in the production box for German, French,
Italian and Spanish.


MESSAGE

     DOS ERROR 85



SOLUTION

Overwrite the existing NET.EXE file in NWCLIENT directory with the new NET.EXE
file.


SYMPTOM

(03/16/94) PNWDIAG.EXE

The Workgroup Traffic Screen stops updating at midnight.

SOLUTION

Overwrite the PNWDIAG.EXE on NWCLIENT directory with the new PNWDIAG.EXE file.

SYMPTOM

User's station hangs while doing print screen.

SOLUTION

  Update to the new VLMs located in VLMUPx.EXE
  (Note:  This originally was fixed by a newer PRINT.VLM)

SYMPTOM

(3/23/94)  SERVER.EXE
   After the server has been rebooted, users are having problem 
   reconnecting to server.

(5/24/94)  SERVER.EXE

   If a COMx port is accessed, SERVER or VLM will hang or the 
   <CTRL><ALT><DEL> sequence does not reboot the machine.

   Third-party AUTOCAD 12C1 TSR called SPEED.COM where in the system hangs
   loading or unloading the TSR.

(7/14/94)  SERVER.EXE
   Also SERVER version 1.23 contains the following fixes: Client can no longer
   write to a file on a readonly drive. Client can no longer overwrite files on a
   write only drive. You can now install a server into a workgroup with the
   ALTERNATE CALLDOS = ON set
   The timer interrupt now sets and reads the PIC correctly.


SOLUTION

Overwrite SERVER.EXE on NWCLIENT directory with the new SERVER.EXE file.





Installation Instructions:

Make a backup copy of each file being replaced before copying the new file
into that same directory.
