Number: A2LH080990U283 Subject: Pre-2.15 Versions Routing With 50 or More Servers Date: September 11, 1990 OS Version: 286 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GENERAL INFORMATION: If you are trying to bridge more than (or around) 50 file servers using internal bridging running NetWare that is prior to NetWare v2.15, you will more than likely start to loose your router tables and experience problems with workstations not being able to log into servers, or workstations not seeing some of the servers, etc. The reason is that prior to NetWare v2.15 we used memory pool 3 to keep the tables in. Due to the limitation of the size of that particular memory pool, we were limited to the amount of internal bridging that could be done without over filling and loosing part of the routing tables. Starting with v2.15 we broke the tables up and distributed them differently in memory. You should not have this limitation with NetWare versions from v2.15 on.
