Number: A2TH082890U483 Subject: Three UPGRADE Utility Problems Date: November 19, 1990 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PROBLEM: While running UPGRADE, a customer received the message "Error file (byte size) read 0 bytes". At this point UPGRADE quit. SOLUTION: If you have been using the transfer method when UPGRADE fails then copy over the remaining data using NCOPY. In other cases you will have to run UPGRADE again and exclude the file. PROBLEM: A customer had a Mac files on his 286 server volume. He didn't remember to add Mac name space to his NetWare 386 volume. After running UPGRADE for an hour, it tried to access the first Mac file and aborted execution because it couldn't copy it. SOLUTION: Be sure to add Mac name space to the 386 file server before running UPGRADE. (X) This information was verified verbally
