/nof NOVELL NETWARE SUPPORT FOR IBM PC-DOS 3.3 In order to support IBM PC-DOS 3.3 a new NetWare shell object is required. The new shell object is compatible with Advanced NetWare 86, 286 and SFT NetWare versions 2.0, 2.0a. It is also compatible with Advanced NetWare 68, SFT NetWare 68 verisons 2.0, 2.0a, 2.01, 2.01a and 2.02. The shell object consists of one file which is identified as: ANET3 OBJ 63199 6-15-87 Copy this file onto a working copy "GENSH-2" diskette replacing the one that is already there. Generate your shells in the ordinary manner. If you have any of the new IBM Personal System/2 computers, you will need to transfer the generated shell from 5 1/4" media to 3 1/2" media in order to use the shell. A combined "GENSH-1" and "GENSH-2" diskette on 3 1/2" media will be avaiable from Novell shortly. This will allow shell generation on machines with 3 1/2" drives. This shell object is also compatible with IBM PC-DOS versions 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2. Token Ring/A Support: The shell driver that is currently available with the 2.0a versions of NetWare is compatible with the new IBM Token Ring/A Adapter for the new IBM Personal System/2 Models 50 and 60. You must obtain the TRN support software for the new adapter from your IBM supplier before trying to use the Token Ring/A with NetWare. As the Personal System/2 Models 50 and 60 are not yet supported as file servers, a machine with a standard bus and standard Token Ring Adapter must be used for the file server. IBM PC Network II Support: Operating system and shell drivers for the PC Network II are available on NetWire. They will function with either the baseband or broadband PC Network II card. The PC Network II/A is only supported on the workstation side at this time. The Personal System/2 Models 50 and 60 are not currently supported as file servers at this time. If a 286 based file server is desired, one with the standard bus must be used. If a base band system is being used, a PC Network II card with the baseband module must also be used in the file server. The PC Network II card with broadband support is cable compatible with the earlier PC Network Adapter cards. /for
