Readme.txt Disk Player v1.0s by Innovative Technologies of Austin (C) 1993. Disk Player 1.0s is shareware. Use and evaluate Disk Player for 30 days free of charge. If you wish to keep Disk Player, all we ask is that you forward $9.95US and the registration form to Innovative Technologies of Austin at the address given below. Feel free to pass Disk Player along to your friends and coworkers. Be sure to include all the components of Disk Player including register.txt as well as this file, readme.txt. Disk Player requires a Windows 3.1 MPC compatible PC with MPC sound card MPC CD ROM drive using MSCDEX version 2.2 or greater. The necessary files for Disk Player are dskplyr.exe bitbtndl.dll ftibmap.dll bwcc.dll lcdfont.fon ftifont.fon (~450Kbytes). These files should be located in the same directory. The .fon and .dll files may also be put in your Windows directory. To Run Disk Player, doubleclick on dskplyr.exe from the File Manager window. You may also add dskplyr.exe to any new or existing program group in the Program Manager. If you have any problems with Disk Player please contact Innovative Technologies at the address below. Standard Features Play, Pause, Skip, Stop, Random Play, Eject. Advanced Features Alarm Clock- To set the CD to start playing at a specified time, 1) select 'Alarm Clock' from the Player Menu, 2) enter the hour and minute in the text boxes provided or use the buttons next to each text box to advance the value up or down. 3) set the alarm by placing the cursor over the check box (located next to the words "Wake Time" in the lower half of the Alarm Clock window) and clicking the left mouse button. A check will appear in the box when the alarm is set. Program - The program play feature has been disabled in this release of Disk Player. However, All the user interface functions work, so you can see how songs are selected and played. All registered users of Disk Player receive a free copy which has program play enabled. To set Disk Player to play selected songs from a CD. 1) Select 'Program' from the Player menu. A dialog with 2 list boxes and 3 buttons will appear. The upper list box, named Disk Tracks, lists the songs on the CD in the drive. The second list box, named Program Tracks, is initially empty. It contains the songs selected to play. 2) To add a song to the Program Tracks list, select the song from the Disk Tracks list box and press the Select button. The song number and playing time will appear in the Program Tracks list box. 3) The Program Tracks list can be cleared by pressing the Clear button. 4) When all the song selections have been made, press the Ok button. 5) Press the Play button in the Disk Player window. Disk Player will play the programmed songs in the order in which they were selected unless Disk Player is in the Random mode. If Disk Player is in the Random mode, the songs will be randomly selected from the Program Tracks list. Registration If wish to keep Disk Player beyond the 30 day trial period, all we ask is that you register your copy of Disk Player for the nominal fee of $9.95US. In return for your honesty and support for the shareware idea, you will receive a free copy of Disk Player which has program play enabled as well as a host of other features. MediaVision PAS+ MPC Upgrade Kit occasionally causes a hardware error when trying to play. workaround - eject and reinsert disc, this forces a hardware reset. Some controls may flicker on machines with slower video graphics adapters. If you see this behavior please contact ITA so that we can duplicate the problem on our machines.
