If this is a shareware version, install the program by typing cdplayer on the
commandline or from the file run in Windows program manager.

THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES WINDOWS 3.1 OR GREATER!!!!!!!!

Thank you for trying CDPlayer!

I have spent a great deal of time working on this program so I hope you like
it.  Now that the program is loaded, I will assume things are good.

If you decided NOT to install the driver, the player will work IF you have
previously installed a cd rom driver for Windows.  If you experience problems
with your current driver, here's how you can use mine:

First, open system.ini in notepad or you favorite text editor.
Second, look for [mci].
Third, look for CDAudio= line.
Forth, add this to the CDAudio line:

	CDAudio=mcicda.drv

It should look exactly like the above line.

The buttons are fairly self explanatory.  If you minimize the program
the track, minutes and seconds are displayed.  On-line help, repeat,
eject and retrack are disabled in the shareware version.  Registration gives
you these and the latest release.  You will also be notified of future
upgrades; not to mention helping me through college!

You may experience problems with screen savers with passwords. Sometimes
they will not allow the player to update the settings info.  IF YOU 
access the cd rom player while it is playing (eg: trying to access it as a
drive or trying to open a file) the player will stop playing an reset itself.
There is nothing I can do about this problem.  Some program cause this to 
happen (eg: Word for Windows 1.0, 2.0, Norton Desktop for Window 1.0, 2.0 
for example).  If the player stops playing, just press play and it will
restart. 

There are some remnants from the install program, usually in the TEMP 
directory. They begin with ~cln.... . Just delete these files!

working product.  I can not be held responsible for every problem (most are
out of my control).  I will do my best to resolve problems with the software
if I am given written notice of the problem.  If you registered the program,
I will send an update as soon as it is available (provided it is not a major

NOTE:   Smartdrive may cause a CRC error.  To correct this problem, type the
following:

	smartdrv c-
c stands for the drive letter you wish to install to. The - sign says disable
the write/read.  This will allow the installation program to work properly.

To re-enable smartdrive, type smartdrv c+.
