The accompanying 'city' Wuncemor (filename WUNCEMOR.SC2) was built with the philosophy "If you build it, they will come!". This is not a built up city per se but rather an experimental layout wherein the entire city has been completely zoned out while the simulator was paused. All the city has been pre-zoned into its residential, commercial, and industrial parts. A small area has been zoned for airports and seaports. Additionally, a minimum of schools, fire & police stations, libraries, and other fun stuff have been scattered throughout the city. There is even one prison. Mass transit has also been provided for: The entire city is gridded with roads, a highway starts in the residential and extends through the center commercial island to the industrial side, an extensive subway covers almost the entire area, the city is ringed with one rail, and waterpipes and powerlines are threaded to touch most of the zoned areas. This was initially accomplished by cheating a SimCity Classic game with over 2 billion dollars, importing it to SC2000, and then designing how I wanted it to look. This type of layout has a few interesting things to look at: 1) Before you take it off pause, try to 'guess' where your population will start to originally settle and why it will settle there. You may be surprised as to where your city actually starts growing. 2) If you see an area that needs to grow, try building some mass transit (bridge, highway, etc.) linking it with another part of the city and then watch what happens. 3) With all the extra money in the bank, you really do not need to tax but go ahead anyway and see how far you can push tax increases before your city's population reacts adversely. NOTE: When the city size reaches 60,000 sims, you will be offered the military base BUT it cannot be placed because the entire city is zoned out. Dezone an area before you turn the simulator on if you want a military base. Once you turn the simulator on, depending on the taxe rate, your city may start growing fast and furious (over 10,000 after 2 years if good conditions permit!!) - so watch out for anything. This city is titled 'Wuncemor' because when I first started with SC2000, I had to go back to the drawing board 'once more' & 'once more' and until I got it right (sort of).....
