Each month in PIM, we'll feature a profile of one of the BBS's (and
the SysOp) that carries Poetry In Motion. If you'd like your BBS to
be featured, read the files WOULDYOU.TXT and PIMSYSOP.TXT included
   in this PIM archive.

This month, we feature Pen & Brush BBS.

I'm especially proud to profile P&B as my BBS, Sunlight Through The
Shadows, is involved with it. P&B is the NetHub for P&BNet(tm), a
writers/artists network spanning across parts of the U.S. that I
carry on my system. I've found Lucia, SysOp of P&B BBS and National
SysOp of the net, to be intelligent, funny, and helpful. I'm proud
to include her among one of the many new friends I've made across
   the net.

   Thus, without further interruption...

   Pen & Brush BBS

Pen & Brush comes to you from out of Springfield, Virginia, and can
be reached toll-free within the Washington D.C. metro area. Having
been in existence nearly 15 months, P&B boasts a wide range of
message bases, on-line magazines, and files.

Does Pen & Brush sound familiar? It should. It's the NetHub for Pen
& Brush Network, a postlink/.QWK net for writers and artists. Albeit
it's relatively new, P&BNet(tm) is slowly expanding, having found
homes all across the U.S. including this author's BBS. P&B also
carries RIME, one of the largest networks in the country.

Lucia Chambers, thirty-something, and her husband John,
forty-something, share SysOp duties of P&B. Aside from running a BBS
and a network, Lucia also publishes Smoke & Mirrors, an
on-line/elec. magazine which features fiction, poetry, recipes, and
   a little of everything.

Along with Smoke & Mirrors and Poetry In Motion, P&B carries Ruby's
Pearls, Random Access Humor, ModemNews, Sunlight Through The Shadows
magazine (Yes, this IS a plug), as well as a host of other magazines
   and on-line/computer publications.

Lucia is a consultant in the Washington D.C. area and also writes
for a living. John is the information Systems Director for the
association which accredits psychotherapists in the United States.
John also runs ABEnet, a BBS devoted exclusively to the
   psychotherapy community.

In their spare time - of which they seem to have increasingly little
of - Lucia and John enjoy a variety of hobbies, including music
(John plays blues guitar, Lucia plays the classical piano),
wine-making, painting, photography, and listening to the musical
rhapsodies of Zack and Cosmo, their two parrots.

With over 500 Meg of hard drive space devoted to the BBS, Pen &
Brush BBS has a lot to offer. If you're interests lie in writing,
art, birding, cooking, gardening, chess, or simply the art of
creativity itself, Pen & Brush will probably have something for you.
Give it a quick call. I'm sure you'll be happy that you did.
