                        Legal Ease BBS

In my endless search for more boards to write reviews about I have overlooked
one that is right here in my back yard. When I need a file that I can't find
anywhere, am in need of a file that is unique or I have a legal question
I always seem to call one BBS first, Legal Ease.

Legal Ease has been in existence since the latter part of 1985 when it
assumed the bbs belonging to Miles Crawford called the MesSdos. It
started on a 80286/20 with a 1200 baud Mercury modem and an 80 meg
Seagate 4096 hard drive. Now Legal Ease runs on 1-486-50 LB with 1.546
gigs of hard drive space, 6 CDs in a Pioneer six stacker, a 486-33 with
670 meg of hard drive space and 1 cd on line, a 386-33 with 340 meg of
hard drive space, and 1 CD online- A private node running a 486-50 with
twin 213 meg Maxtors and a Sony -and finally a maintenance node with a
486-66, twin 340 meg drives with all 5 nodes operating through
USRobotic's HST Dual Standards at 16,800-all of which will be upgraded to
28,800 as soon as the CCITT committee adopts V.FAST.

Legal Ease in addition to having approximately 65,000 public share ware
files on line- has the Washington state statutes, RCW, & WAC, the Court
Rules- Federal, State & local on line so you can search for any word or
groups of words in them. Also available are ethical opinions for the
State. The printer drivers for Word Perfect are maintained online so that
the users of Word perfect can obtain the newest drivers without having to
wait and pay 10 dollars for a disk with 1 set of drivers.
These services are and always have been free to all users.

Now for those users wanting to download serious amounts of files,
Extended access -graduated from 2 to 4 megabytes per 24 hour period can
be had for contributions from $35 to $100 per 12 month period. Any level
of extended access also has hard drive support- type of CMOS setup,
heads - cyc. etc is provided upon request. An online store provides
computer systems, parts and accessories 24 hours a day. That missing
cable your computer mail order house forgot to send you can usually be
obtained Friday afternoon at 5:01 even though the normal stores have
closed for the evening- Usually week-end.

Master Card & VISA are accepted, Files on Disks are available and files
on TAPE- Jumbo250 meg type are also available. Legal forms such as you
would find in a book store abound and are often times more current than
in the store. PCBoards 14.5 -soon to be 15 is the software that's run and
upgrades are continuous.

The main body of text in this article came from a reply I received from Bill
when I asked about more information on his BBS. It was well put together and
I decided to leave it as you see it with only minor changes.
