These files are intended to help new WC! 3.x sysops in getting
their DOOR games up and running. They are intended as a guida, or
aid only in explaining some of the tips, tricks and traps we run into
in getting the doors going.

I asked the WildCAT main sysop for help once on a door problem. I
thought the reply was rude. The sysop made the suggestion that if
I needed a list of door games and helps that work on WildCAT 3.x,
perhaps I should write one - the sysop didn't have the time.

Wellll......!!! Same to you, bubba. (note: In reality, the sysop
help desk tech who replied was really nice, I just got "ticked"
'cause I couldn't get my prob fixed...)

Then, I decided if nobody would help me, I'd just help myself. You see,
you have to know where to LOOK for help. I'm that new at sysop stuff
(our boards been up since June 1). The more I looked into it, the more I
realized what a NIGHTMARE door games on-line can be.

These door game people write a VERY confusing document for 2 reasons:

1. They want to save paper.
2. They are lazy.
3. They are ego-centric who rail at Mustang for not writing a BBS
program that instantly handles all of the "bugs" they put in their
    software.
4. They don't know how to make the door work 100% and are trying to
convince you there's something wrong with your PC, WC! or you -
the Bill Clinton defense - "Anybody but ME !"

Yeah, that's more than 2. I've got others....

I soon discovered why the Mustang sysop can't provide a lot of detailed help
on door games. The door game programmers want Mustang to PAY their
money to be a Technical suooprt/Help desk for the door game programmer.
All the door gamer wants is the registration fee. (Believe me.. nearly
every ONE of the door games I looked at (over a hundred) has a disclaimer
in that says roughly, if it don't work....Tough Toenails. Pay me anyway.

There are a lot of door games that load in WC3. Movie time trivia and Rassle
are a couple I can think of. They were E-Z to load, ran remote and local
w/o a hitch. Until I say the remote screen. After the questions pop-up
onscreen, the margins overlap, and the screen word-wraps. The local (sysop's)
screen looked fine. So, yes .. they work. but not 100%.

YESSSSS!!! I know there are sysops who have those games up and running
in WC3.x. I loaded them up in RBBS, Renegade and Searchlight BBS w/o a
single problem. But WildCAT gives me SO MUCH MORE of the real stuff I run
a BBS for, the doors are a MINOR problem. Besides, the prob you have
in doors, occur in all of the other BBS's software. I've CRASHED them
all. But, never, never has Wildcat crashed. Even when a user drops
carrier in a door game, WC! re-sets everyhing in 30 seconds and is back
in business. Plus, I get a report on the dork who flipped-off.

These files are NOT the be-al and end-all. they are just the answer to
several messages I say on Mustang Main... and in response to the sysop's
suggestion. Hope they help you. I even learned some more just writing them.
