The MegaVision3D PCI Graphic Adapter is based on Trident's ProVidia9685TM chipset . The ProVidia9685TM is the first single-chip TV-Out and Direct3D graphics controller solution specifically designed for the entertainment graphics and video markets. The MegaVision3D Graphic Adapter includes an advanced hardware video accelerator, video overlay and vertical & horizontal hardware interpolation for vastly improved MPEG performance, Direct3D graphics acceleration and TV-Out function. These features allow you to experience exceptional display qualities on either a VGA monitor or PAL or NTSC TV display.
The Advanced Video Accelerators and 3D Accelerators are developed in line with Microsoft® Direct3DTM to un-burden the CPU of unnecessary graphic tasks, to allow 3D games to run at higher resolutions, frame rates and with higher 3D imagery.
The MegaVision3D was developed to utilize the best of Direct3DTM and the
ProVidia9685TM to provide fast, high performance 3D graphics. It achieves this by allowing the Microsoft®Direct3D software to do the work of texture mapping & rendering, while the ProVidia9685TM shrinks the image to 320x240 and does the necessary 3D/Video acceleration work at 4 times the speed of a 640x480 image. It then uses its frame stretch, X/Y scaling and edge smoothing to bring the graphics back to a stunning image at 640x480 resolution.
