Welcome in the fascinating world of learning and multimedia! This courseware is the product of several hundred hours of work at the prepatory level as well as in the actual production of the document. We hope that the quality of this work meets with your expectations. To give you a glimse of what kind and how much information is packed in this courseware, a demo package was prepared: the main menu and the first screen of each chapter are fully functional, except for certain navigational functions. That way you can click on the different buttons to see what can happen. To install the demo: A) From diskette drive: -1- Under Windows, open the File Manager. -2- Double-click on the file called "INSTALL.EXE" on diskette 1. -3- Specify the directory where you want to install the demo. B) From hard disk: -1- Create a temporary directory on the hard disk; -2- Copy the content of both demo diskettes in that directory; -3- Under Windows, open the File Manager. -4- Double-click on the file called "INSTALL.EXE". -5- Specify the directory where you want to install the demo. When installation is done, you sould remove the temporary directory. Written for the dentist, professional and student alike, this course is about the Anatomy & Anaesthesia of the Mandibular Nerve. It contains 3 chapters of theoretical information (Osteology, Dissection & Clinic), and a Quiz section which consist into a questionnaire designed to test the user’s newly acquired knowledge of dissection. The contents of the courseware is supported by more than 100 photographs & diagrams in 256 colors, in which structures are identified by clicking on the highlighted words in the accompanying text. A location and access map of the contents is always available through the use of a “Where Am I?” button: the user knows where he or she is and can change location at will. The goal is to present the user with input from a wide range of different medium, information which is otherwise spread around in the library, laboratory, classroom, etc. This is truly an interactive multimedia course. INFORMATION ON THE COMPLETE PACKAGE: Minimal System Requirements: o IBM & Compatible 386 or better. o 4 megabytes of RAM minimum. o Hard disk with a least of 10 megabytes avalable. o 13 inches color screen (640x480 resolution). o 8 bits video card (256 colors with proper driver installed). o Mouse. o Sound card (optional). o Windows 3.x (with Multimedia Extentions Kit, if version 3.0). Once installed, “Anatomy & Anaesthesia of the Mandibular Nerve” occupies about 12 megabytes on your hard drive, and needs 3000K of free memory to run properly. Licensing is a very important thing to encourage developers to continue their work without being discourage by illegal copying of their documents. For that reason, one package of the courseware must be acquired for each machine on which it will be installed.
