TDL V1.1 ~~~~~~~~ [Version change details are at the end of this file] Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~ TDL is a program designed to help you maintain a list of "to do" items. These items can be deleted, saved, rescheduled, edited, have alarms, notes or telephone numbers associated, and lots more. A fuller list of features is given below. Environment ~~~~~~~~~~~ TDL needs Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups V3.1 or V3.11. Untested on other versions of Windows or Windows lookalikes. Features ~~~~~~~~ TDL includes the following functionality: o Postponing of items by a given number of days, or until a specific date o Closing of items, which are saved for later reports, etc o Permanent deleting of items o Editing of items o Alarms attached to items o Notes attached to items o Maintenance of a telephone number database, with the ability to associate a telephone number with an item o Prioritisation of items o Notification of overdue items o The ability to handle multiple databases open simultaneously (a "database" in this context is a list of related items. For example, you may have a list of to do items for project X, another for project Y, and a third list of personal to do items). o The ability to assign meaningful (non-8.3) names to databases o The ability to automatically load given databases on startup, and to determine which one will be displayed by default o Extensive customisation options Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unzip the kit to a floppy disk or a spare directory on your hard disk, and execute SETUP.EXE (if you do this from DOS, Windows will automatic- ally be started for you). Then simply follow the on-screen instructions. Redistribution ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are wecome to redistribute this application provided that: 1. All files, including this one, are distributed 2. No charges are made, other than a nominal one for copying the files Product registration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TDL is shareware: it is NOT free. You are entitled to try it for a period of thirty days without doing anything. If you wish to continue to use it beyond that time, you must register it. Added "snooze" facility to alarms. Fixed default "save" directory. Cleaned up title of main window. Added "no date" facility. Various other minor bugs fixed and improvements made. X.126a: Fixed bug whereby if month started on a Friday or Saturday items could not be postponed past 31st or 30th respectively. X.126: TDL now checks that it can actually find the application you selected for notes. If it cannot find it, it presents a dialog box for you to manually indicate which .EXE file to use. Added ability to use other editors for adding notes. Added ability (via Edit Item) to remove telephone numbers from items. Added ability (via Edit Item) to remove notes from items. Fixed bug whereby deleting an item with a note attached crashed TDL. Fixed bug where "Display items entered today" would periodically reset to show to do items. Date format in to do list now reflects date format set via the Control Panel (International section). One or two miscellaneous internal bugs fixed.
