Every conference has (will have) a moderator. Moderators will be appointed
for each conference by the Net Administrator.

Along with topics of interest and/or sources of useful and helpful
information, a moderator is important in the health and growth of a
network. Moderators should be active participants.

1. Requirements for a moderator -
     A. Has read and understands the net rules.
     B. Carry the required conferences, (Net Administration, Catch All,
Your Comments, and the conference you will moderate). Net Admin
is the only place to discuss possible problems and ways of handling
them. Problems are not to be discussed in public Net conferences.
     C. Should be able to start conversations.
     D. Use an off-line mail reader to do the job properly.

2. Selection of a moderator -
     A. Appointed by the Net Administrator, (they are directly responsible
to the Net Administrator and no one else).
     B. Moderators don't give up their user rights and responsibilities.
     C. To apply for a position as Moderator submit: Your name, the BBS and
sysop's name where you access the net, your voice telephone number,
your profession and any experience (may be life experience, need
not be school/work related) or training related to the conference.
     D. Though it is not required, you should have some experience in or be
familiar with the conference topic, (this is not necessarily a
deciding factor in appointments, but is very helpful).

3. Responsibilities and Duties -
     A. Is familiar with the net rules and follows them. If unsure of any
rule, at any time, request clarification from Net Administrator.
     B. Ensures that users abide by the rules by enforcing all O'N'E-Net
        rules and guides.
     C. Help users to the best of your ability.
     D. Be active. Post frequently. (minimum 3 days weekly required).
     E. Enjoy yourself and help others to do the same.

4. Taking care of Problems -
     A. Minor Offense: Issue one or more (no more than 3) gentle public
reminder/warnings to the offender pointing out the problem and the
        action required to correct it.
     B. Repeat Offense(s): Issue a private suspension warning to the
offender in the moderated conference with a copy sent public to
the net administrator in the Net Administration Conference. This
will be followed by a two week suspension of the offender from the
conference if adverse behavior persists. (example Private Warning
shown at end of moderator section)
Note: If this is done by more than one moderator for the same
user, he will be automatically locked out of the net!
     C. If at any time, you as Moderator, are unable to handle a problem or
user, contact the Net Administrator for assistance and he will take
        the next appropriate action.
          1. Administrative Action -
               a. Conference and/or Net suspensions and lock outs as
specified above, also may be taken on Administrative
                  initiative.
               b. Should a previously suspended user ignore the moderator
and again causes a problem, the offender will be
                  permanently banned from the net.
               c. Flagrant violations of the Net Rules is automatic lock
                  out and ban.
               d. Public notice of suspension (temporary) or lock out
(permanent), will be posted in the Net Administration
conference by the Net Administrator. Notice will be sent
to the sysop of the originating BBS for their attention
to take appropriate action with the offender. Steps will
be taken by the Net Administrator if the offender is a
                  net sysop.
