Purpose : A "librarian" under Windows 3.1 for the Ensoniq VFX synth familly. --------- Note : This is a beta version. It has only be tested on a 486 computer with a ------ Musiq Quest (MPU 401 compatible) under Windows 3.1 and a SD1 synth. ------------ User guide ------------ Overview : ---------- When you lauch VFXLIB.EXE, a window appear whith 2 lists. The first list (on the left), is the edit list : You can modify this list by adding patchs selected in the second list. You can also modify the name of a patch in the first list by double-clicking on it. Then, you can save the edited list in a file or you can sent it to the synth. Instructions : -------------- When a bank is loaded into a list, each patch appears in this form : [-] is the number of the patch in the bank, beginning at 1. correspond to one of the 10 "bank buttons" on the synth and is numbered from 0 to 9. is the number off a patch on the VFX page and is numbered from 1 to 6. menu "list1" : New : This load an empty bank into the first list. A previously loaded bank in this list is erased. Open : lets you choose a fileName containing a bank of 60 patchs and loads it into the 1st list. Save : Not implemented : Use "Save As" instead... Save As : lets you enter a filename in which you will save the bank you edited in 1st list. menu "list2" : Open : lets you choose a fileName containing a bank of 60 patchs and loads it into the 1st list. menu "midi" : Send : The bank previously loaded into the first list is sent to the synth, on the first midi device detected. Receive : Not implemented... Changing the name of a patch : ------------------------------ To change the name of a patch in the first list, just double- click on it. A popup-window appears in which you can edit the name. Copying patchs from 2nd to 1st list : ------------------------------------- This is very simple : select one or more patchs in the 2nd list, select the destination into the first list, and just press the "Write" button. On the 2nd list, you can select or deselect a patch by clicking on it with the left button. This feature is very usefull for buiding a new bank by picking patchs into several others banks, or for changing the layout of patchs into a single bank.
