Revolutionary War veterans and their widows who applied for pensions and bounty  
land warrants, including all additions and corrections uncovered by the National

1736.  Abstracts of depositions made before the Lord Mayor's Court of London

heretofore unknown English origins and relatives of American colonists.

NO. 45 - American Loyalist Claims.  The aftermath of the Revolution produced  
vast amounts of written evidence from both loyalists and patriots regarding  
their wartime activities and inheritance of property.  Original documents  
(collected by London officials and now accessible in Surrey) include wills (some 
of which may be the only copies extant), deeds, descriptions and valuations of
real and personal property, memorials by the claimant or his representatives,
personal correspodence, etc.  In this volume the  information in bundles 1-35 and

NO. 49 - Evidence: An Exemplary Study (A Craig Family Case History).  A study in 
genealogical evidence by Milton Rubincam, FNGS.  The work is based on the  
research of other competent genealogists, as well as on his own investigations in
Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Easton. The problem was to determine the
relationship between Revolutionary War officers named Craig, of Northhampton Co.,
Pa.  This publication demonstrates how one goes about assembling data from
original sources, evaluating the evidence, arriving at conclusions, and putting
the piece together.  It is left to the reader's judgment as to whether or not the

NO. 50 - NYC Court Records, 1684-1760.  Abstracts picture activities of both  
criminal and law abiding citizens.  Court cases involve appointment of guardians, 
proving wills, inquests, manumission of slaves, appointment of officials to  
civic duties, cask marks, aid to the poor, approval of accounts, public  
nuisances, meeting house registrations, and many other activities.  Index

detailed abstracts, these wills provide intimate details of household, personal

genealogical data pertaining to legal name changes in New York City between  
1848 and 1899 of more than 890 persons have been extracted for this volume.  One 
finds ages (often with exact date of birth), names of parents, wives and  
children, places of birth (frequently inside "iron curtain" countries), dates  
of marriages and divorces, adoptions, residences, and places of business in  
New York City.  Reasons for seeking a change of name are given, e.g., financial  
gain, divorce, prejudice against certain names, desire to show respect or  
affection for ancestors, friends or benefactors, business or professional  
advantage.  In short, these records are a veritable gold mine for genealogical
