
Apply the kernel patch to your latest kernel. It's very small and
hasn't interfered with any official upgrade patches so far.  If you
have problems, do it by hand - it's 2 minutes work.

Rebuild the kernel (of course).

Next thing is to start the rpc.rstatd daemon in your start-up
script (rc.local or whatever).  Remember to start it with the
'&' like:

   /usr/sbin/rpc.rstatd &

or you will hang the system at boot-time as it doesn't background
itself automatically.

The standard, as-delivered, perfmeter should work perfectly with
these fixes.  All the statistics should be gathered and displayable.
