Welcome to yabbs. Since you are new around here it would be nice if you
could leave some email to htoaster (go the the m)essages menu and e)nter
message). Otherwise, just have fun exploring.

Here are some things you might want to look at:
   1) The message bases. You can leave private email in the base labeled
email, while the others are used for public mail. You will get access
to all of the bases available on this connect (so please don't send email
      asking for it).
   2) The GFiles. This lets you get to a whole bunch of information available
via gopher. You could probably spend your whole life reading stuff in
there. Think of it as a online library.
   3) The chat section. This lets you talk with other yabbs users. You can
make channels for private conversations or hang out on the default
yabbs channel and talk to others on the system.
   4) Oh, and don't forget to make a info file. This is just a little file
that has some information about you. You can make them by going to
the configuration menu and selecting i)nfo file edit.

On the gritty side, here are a few things you might want to know:
   1) I can and do read all personal email. I don't have too much of a choice,
I don't think that anyone wants to see yabbs go down because codes, etc,
were posted. I also won't spread any information that I find in personal
email, or even try to remember it. I can also read everything that
happens in the chat section, but I don't do this often (I don't have
the time to sit around and be a police man), but it is possible.
   2) We aren't a warez board. We don't even really have a files section. We
do have some computer related stuff, but we aren't a software or account
cracking board, so don't look for that stuff here.
   3) Please do post. The system is dependent on its users, and needs people
to keep it active by posting. One message/call would make the system
      very active.
   4) I'm not responsible for the actions of you or any other user on the
system. I don't have the time to monitor all connections to the system,
what people are saying in talk, or where accounts come from. If you find
that anyone is giving you trouble please use the /ignore feature of
the client to ignore what they say, and if you continue to have troubles
please feel free to complain to me. I may not be able to do anything
about it, but I'll see if there is any way that I can help. If you
disagree with philosophies of this system than feel free not to use it.

thanks,
htoaster (htoaster+@cmu.edu)
